Hi Guys

Currently i have a network comprising of 3pcs connected to a switch
one of the pcs is connected to the internet and shared to the other pcs

ive also got a laptop so was thinking of buying a router
now ive got 2 options in front of me

1)Keep the desktop pcs wired and the lappy through wireless

2) get wireless network cards for all three pcs and connect through wireless
Ive decided to get the Buffalo WHR G54S

Also will anybody else be able to get into the wireless network, what can i do to prevent somebody getting in

Which one do you guys think would be better

also where can i get a print server from
TIA

to secure your wireless network you can enable WPA2 security set a good passcode and also use "MAC filtering" to restrict connections to only the list of network card "numbers" you enter in your wireless router's config... that should be good enuff

about the print server thingy. not sure if HP's new inkjet printers have any fancy "print via wireless" option, that would be neat...

well to avoid wire clutter you can opt for wireless...this will increase ur budget though...

as for the security you can enable wep key or wpa in your router...

and as for the print server, iirc d-link has one of the wireless router with built-in usb print server...dunno about any models in buffalo/linksys/netgear with inbuilt print server...
