I live in Himachal Pradesh Nahan so online buying wont be possible.... No deliveries for heavy items.... So please help guys!!!

Have been using IFB fully automatic washing machine for past 18 months without problem at all...
Don't know the exact model no,will add model no. In morning...usage is all week as it used by me And friends for our clothes daily morning...
Sometime we take it ride for 2 times a day...

bro but as I have already mentioned machines are good no doubt but their servicing is worst...

As you are not in a metro location, you should consider models from LG and Samsung. In case you have a service center nearby, Siemens should be your choice of brand.

1) you should keep in mind that all machines work the same for a given amount of money. for a given price range, they give you the same value, no matter which brand they belong to. this is true for all the local brands to the exceptional ones likes Miele.

2) so, instead of asking for "which brand", you should ask/look for specific features you need. each poster will have a different opinion regarding a particular brand... and you won't reach a conclusion. please list what features you would like to use and maybe someone can post their views.

3) after sales service does not depend on the brand but the locality of the buyer. service providers know which machines don't like hilly weather and which don't like the corrosive seaside environment. so, you won't get same kind of services all over India. do a local market search and list down the manufacturers which provide services in Nahan.

4) there are pros and cons for both front and top loading machines. which one do you need?

Aye sir... first of all thanks for the reply bro... Well I want to go for front loader(actually my mom :) ) Bro as I mentioned many people have negative feedback for IFB so i just want to avoid it... I know that we get what we pay for but shouldn't we get the best out of what we pay for? That is why I asked about a specific brand and moreover I forgot to mention I dont have much knowledge about fully automatic washing machines... Also you asked which features well more would be better after all we can not get everything we desire for but it should have maximum features for eg washer+dryer, many other might be there about whom I may not be aware of so you can help me with that... also about the water the water here contains calcium so please suggest accordingly... regarding after sales I dont want any kind of long delays like I just read somewhere that IFB guys took 45 days to revert back... This is just not about IFB,I just want to clear one point that if anything goes wrong then there should be a proper servicing without much delay... And as you said I will definitely go out here and check out which brands provide good service in nahan... So please help me on this...[DOUBLEPOST=1369483241][/DOUBLEPOST]

bro can you suggest which one provides good features and aftersales service LG or samsung my budget 20-22K can increase upto 25K...

what capacity are you looking for? Lg and Samsung do not have much to differentiate in terms of features

your budget keeps you to 5.5Kg http://www.lg.com/in/front-loading-washing-machines

http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/home-appliances/washing-machine/front-loading

Can I get washer+dryer with this budget 25K bw I dont even know my mom would increase the budget slightly if she gets good features... So which one would you suggest?how much warranty both of them provide?

Go with LG - top loading.

Do you have access to 24x7 water [front loaders have their own set of headaches if you do not have 24x7 water; besides FL's being a lot, lot more expensive].
Also double check with sales ppl about the "high calcium" content in your water & whether this causes any problems in the long run.

Cheers
Terry

thanks for the reply sir but do not wish to buy the top loaders and moreover have budget to go for the front loader.... No issues with water supplies have two tanks to store... will check with other calcium problem though...

Its not about continuous water supply only, its actually got to do with enough water pressure in the pipe. Even if you have 2 water tanks, water pressure will be lower than if it was coming from a tank situated on terrace. My Samsung top loader runs off storage tanks just fine, but takes a really long time to fill up. Terry might be saying that without enough water pressure, the washing machine might error out (and stop) thinking that water is not coming in.

yes you are right but here pressure also is not a problem though... water tanks are situated @ top of the house so pressure wont be an issue... thanks for helping out please suggest more so that I can buy the machine with no hesitation...

Why do you need a dryer in HP? Isn't the weather already dry enough there? IMO, the normal spinning process in fully automatic washing machine is enough to remove 80 percent of moisture from wet clothes even in rainy season here in Mumbai. My clothes dry by evening in summer and by next day in rainy season. Besides, dryers cost around >20k on their own I guess (last time I saw the prices).

Also I read in DNA or some other paper that most wm's don't clean effectively as they advertise. Don't know if it was a paid article or something like that. Newspapers and their articles cant be relied on nowadays.

Oh yes dryer not compulsory bro... spinning would do the job... yes as you mentioned that cant rely totally on advertisements and all... That is why I am asking those who own the machines...

Just a tip. Have a look at washing machines available in your area and note down their model numbers. We could shortlist the best of the list here. No use finalizing a machine if its not available in your area. Unless you know the dealer well and he's ready to get you that particular model. :)
