Firstly, what is your exact budget. Secondly, what are the recommended system requirements to run your BI apps, etc? Are the specs mentioned the recommended requirements?

I dont like the HP keys - my neighbour has an HP model.

I would also recommend to go to your nearest Lenovo ASSC - they double up as Business partners. You would get a much better deal with DOS.

Hi
BI apps normally require 1 gig ram to run. it can even run smoothly on Core 2 Duo . My Office desktop has a 2.66ghz Core2 Duo and 2gig ram.
How is the Lenovo ASS. Slightly skeptical about it as its a Chinese company.

Lenovo has taken over IBM's computer business worldwide.

ASSC ranges between OKish to decent. Mine was decent - I got a refund since they dont do replacments.

I also like the fact that you can put a mSATA in the B series - this may seem not so important today, but after a year/when you have the moolah/money/rokda/paisa :p - you can add a mSATA card for SSD like boot speeds while retaining your HDD for traditional apps and ODD for burning discs.

There's a vostro model (which I will confirm tomorrow or after sometime) of following config - i5 3rd gen / 500GB / 4GB / 15"6 / Ubuntu / 3yr warranty @ 37k with bag and no freebies.
The biggest benefit of this model is 3yr warranty, that too from dell, which is a complete jackpot. First year is complete cover, then normal. And believe me, laptop without extended warranty is a man without insurance.

I have bought this laptop for one of my friend, and completely satisfied. The keyboard feedback is good (chiklet), screen is also vibrant with good color production, speakers are good. The only con I can count is below par touchpad, which sadly most laptops carry.
Also, all the drivers with win 8 are working absolutely fine.

PS: Settle for i5 against i3, as you will hugely gain as per your work. And your budget is allowing too.

Yus dude. Plz do post the link. Btw i dont need the lappy bag as i have lots of bags at my home (7 of 'em). Also yest i saw a lenovo laptop
Model G510-59398343 -- 4th Gen Core i5/ 4gb ram/500gb hdd/DOS - 36750
Same model with 4th gen Core i3/4gb ram/500gb hdd/2gb ATI Graphics/DOS - 36750

From what I could find online, i3 version of same model is available at infibeam @ 31.5k, not bad at all. You save 5.5k but lose i5. I'd still say, go for i5.

And yeah, the model no was 2520 (same as above link, but with i5).

I really don't know, bought it from a local computer shop. Just search your nearby shops. Hopefully, you'll end up finding a better deal than online.

Buddy, i saw the above mentioned lappy on Flipkart. But they r giving just 1 yr accidental warranty, Not 3 yrs.

Any Other suggestion guyz.
