Need to buy a Wifi Modem ASAP ! Suggestions !

Hi ,

So my MTNL Wifi router/modem has conked of twice in 6 months and i am fed up of it... currently running on a backup wired modem :(

Please suggest a wireless modem. Doesnt need to be a very high end one. I'd like to have N compatibility. I'm gonna be using it 24x7 downloading via my netbook and will also be using it to access my laptops and desktops wirelessly.

Budget - preferably 3k max...

PS : My old wireless modem had massive heat issues. Had to be reset every few hours. Please whatever you suggest should solve that issue !
 
dlink dIR 615 is excellent and so is tte buffalo one. you can try the Asus WL-520gU too on which after isntalling custom firmware you can use it as a torrent downloading device.
 
I am going to eventually get an xtreamer or something similar and will stream 12GB mkvs of my pc .... i guess i would require n for it ?

I am interested in the Asus but if it would coz problems while streaming, i might leave it.
 
If you want a modem + router, take a look at the Linksys WAG320N. A bit pricey, but it's dual band, has a USB port and gigabit ethernet ports. Good wireless performance too.
 
Preferably stay away from Modem router 2 in 1 combos. most of them have bad reputation of conking off or crashing during tests

Best is connect a Simple N router to a wired MTNL modem.
 
go for wag120n linksys (modem + router) if you opt for a cheap solution. I wont give full rating for this products since its N mode sucks. But using it under b/g mode since a month and not facing any issues...

A known devil is better than an unknown angel.... Keep this in mind and decide...
 
The ads router costs 3500 on ebay . I think there is just one adsl router modem from buffalo for mtnl. If ur in Mumbai and planning to buy it let me know I need 2 as well , one for a friend . If we take 3 we might get a discount . But it's a draft n router but I don't mind as I've heard it's very good .
 
Actually whats the difference between an adsl and adsl2+ modem router ??. Does it matter much even for speeds @ 2 Mb/s ??
