What can I carry to create a wifi hotspot in say a hotel rooms? Currently in a place with wired only, and am using one Macbook Air to create wifi for the other, but would prefer in future to use both laptops on wifi, so don't have to be near the cable outlet.

I know some routers can be used as access points. Any links? Need something relly small, and don't need a hugely powerful one. Distances will be small.[DOUBLEPOST=1368339513][/DOUBLEPOST]http://www.flipkart.com/d-link-dir-505-all-in-one-mobile-companion-router/p/itmdekmqrj4czdj4

Will this work guys?

TP-LINK TL-WR702N 150Mbps Wireless N Nano Router

is another alternative.

The difference is the tp-link requires an extra power adapter whereas the d-link is pretty much self-contained. One of the comments says it can also double up as a usb charger which is useful given it has a usb port.

Tp-link has more range though that won't matter if its just one room or one wall + 20 feet.

Both can act as an ethernet bridge which allows to wi-fi enable any ethernet only device ie tv or blu-ray player.

Both will work for your requirement, maybe form factor is the deciding parameter.

I don't understand why one FK review indicates that the d-link works better with apple devices than android. There should not be any difference between the two.

Thanks guys. Will order the one with the 3g dongle support. Will solve another issue when I travel to places without wifi.
