Need to hide drives

Im leaving behind my PC for 2 weeks and I dont want people to access my secondary HDD. I cant disconnect it coz thats the drive which is used for torrents and the PC would be on each night to download the queued items. (Some 18GB in queue)
Now, IS there a way to hide the drives from public view and yet let the software(torrent) be able to download and save to those hidden drives.
Also I need a good software for password protecting directories so that even if the OS crashes I can unlock those. (My mom still thinks that computer is shutdown with the UPS button)
 
if the PC is switched off when data is being written to the HDD then there is a chance of the full partition getting corrupted - I dont know if password protection will help in such a case. I would think it would be better to put these directories in another partition.
 
Hey Ren.. if hiding certain partitions is all u need, then try the TweakUI.. simple.. just uncheck the drives u dont wanna show up in Win Explorer and they wont :P.. however, say u hide "D:" it'll not show up in explorer.. but, if i were to type d:, then u r screwed :P
