I have a very similar system to yours (Q6600, Abit IP35 Pro, Xonar DG etc.) with 4 GB Ram. I'm currently looking to add another 4 GB of DDR2 RAM to try and "extend" the life of my PC for another 6-12 months.
You mentioned you currently have 3 GB DDR2 Ram. What sticks are these (brand/speed)? Also whats the config of your sticks? Is it 2 x 1GB and 2 x 512Mb? If so, would you be interested in selling your 1GB sticks and for what price? Let me know.

IMO, best bet is to always carry cash, head off to NP and bargain there first hand...
