Hi

Need something to bypass internet restrictions. Something that works, is easy to use and free if possible.

Recently theres a policy here at work that allows only select few sites to be accessible. I need to get around it.

Please help!

TIA

For just browsing you can use a web proxy like hidemyass.com

If you need something better, try an anonymizing sw like TOR and your company or for that matter even your ISP won't know how you use your internet ...... unless your company runs a hidden keylogger on your pc :P

I cant use webproxy....I have access to handful of sites only..

Will try that tool u mentioned...thx...

Google for 'UltraSurf' works great at my office... I can access all the blocked websites like RS, Youtube etc.

I can handle that KK...

The prob now is that I have access to "only" 4 sites and I got one of them to be Techenclave.com thankfully....So cant use webproxies...

The 4 sites granted are

1. Highend3d.com: Community for Maya, 3dsmax, XSI, Zbrush, Motion Builder, Softimage, Alias, Studio, Renderman, and Free 3d resource tips, tricks, tutorials, Mel Scripts, plugins, shaders, tools, jobs, contests, artist gallery and listservs.

2. www.3dbuzz.com

3. YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

4. www.techenclave.com

Theres couple of common machines that have no restrictions though...

install a freeware proxyserver on one of those machines and give it a diff port.
so u can change between the two proxies as and when required. ;)

OT, but my work proxy uses a content filtering mechanism to block access to sites ...

SO any site with words like mail or movies or proxy in the metatags gets blocked

So I setup a personal proxy on my home server with no metatags of its own, and configured it to strip all meta tags from the target site... and can happily access everything now.. :devil2:

it depends what kind of policy is being flowed to your profile......for eg. different ppl at my work place have different rights and hence different policies....the easiest way is to get hold of a colleagues login name and password for windows where there is access to what u wanna visit ,again there is no way u can cheat the system.....the sys log will show the sites visited from the local ip address of ur system + his/her system , so the sys admin really knows whats going on ....atleast at my work place ppl use multiple logins and hence that is not monitored.......if the policy i.e sites are being blocked via port/firewall ...there is nothing u can do abt it...the same abt it being blocked via ISA......but then if u can manage to hook on to those proxy sites then nothing like it.........
ahem....try Vtunnel.com is here to help you beat internet filtering! ......i shouldnt be saying this...but the server at my work place doesnt catch it....

This is what I need to know.

1. My ip is 10.42.63.x

2. There is a machine on the network with ip address 10.42.63.y with full internet access...

I hv local admin priveleges on my machine and can have full access if I enter the ip of the other machine, but I cant simply enter the ip of the other machine as obv there cant be 2 machines with the same ip.

Did someone say proxyserver...What exactly do I have to do here....:(
