hi guys,
I'm looking for a wifi router to be able to support 20 people connecting to it. I dont need a lot of other features - at the max, I can do with getting openwrt on it. It will run 24/7 so please take that into account.
Ideally I want to keep it under 3k.
Any help ?

TP-Link WDR-3600 will be enough for your purpose and it can be flashed to openwrt (AA) but it is slightly above your budget, around 4.6K

If you are looking for office use, plus do not have a firewall, would suggest to get a pfsense box with a N300 WiFi card with detachable antennas + extenders. It wont fit in your budget though unless you have a spare PC.

Else, any router flashable with DD WRT and having ideally 32+ MB of RAM should be more than enough. N150/300 - that's entirely your choice. If you want to transfer big files over WiFi - then N300 is better than N150. Put the router in AP mode, and put it in DHCP forwarder mode.
