Hi neo,
the DVD HOME THEATRE that you are mentioning here, is it just a DVD player with 5.1 output or is it a DVD home theatre setup (that includes a dvd player + the speakers). if it is the latter then you really dont need an amplifier to enjoy your movies.
But if it is the former then 10K is way to low for an amp. you need to shell at least 15K to get an entry level amp suited for home theater setup. You can check-out the Sonodyne AVR-300 (costs 15K with bill in Delhi) also you can look at entry level Yamaha's costing around 17 - 20K and they support 7.1 channels (i guess, not sure). These provide decent output and performance is also good for the money you pay.
But if you are looking for something better then look at entry level Marantz/Denon range they start 25K and above.
secondly simply buying the amp will not help, you also need to club them with a decent pair of fronts/surrounds, center and sub. At least you need a decent set of front speakers to start with. Again for that you can checkout the sonodyne range like the sonus 2605 (tower speaker/10K per piece) or else you can take a look at the cinque 5.1 package (costs 15K) performance is also good.
so you need to shell out at least 30K for setting up your HT system.
If thats high for you then you can check-out cheaper/local brands also (dont have any idea about it) may be others can give there inputs on this.
But whatever you plan to do listen first and believe on your ears coz ultimatley u r the one who is going to listen to it.
hope this helps.
