Hi,
I have bought a new netbook with only freedos as OS. Was trying to install XP, but while installation xp would give "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" error. I believe it would be because of no SATA driver for XP. Then went and tried my hands at fdisk and got the DOS wiped out of the machine. (This was not intended, but a mistake). Checked with win 7 starter edition, but during installation the system would show only 900 MB available space (HDD size is 160GB) and could not proceed with that as well.
Any way to get around this problem? I have already mailed HP asking them for SATA drivers for XP. But I don't know why system shows only 900Mb in case of Win 7. I have tested the HDD by doing bios test and it is fine. Appreciate any help I can get on this.
