Netgear JNR1010 or TP-LINK TL-WR841N? Need cheap router with good range

Hi friends,

I have an old Netgear WGR614 v7 router, which has started dropping connection very frequently. The only way to reconnect the devices is to restart router. Also, the range of that router is insufficient for my needs.

So, I thought I might upgrade to a newer device. I have almost a dozen different gadgets in my home which connect to Wifi (4 smartphones, 3 laptops, 2 tablets). My main requirement is long range and stable performance. Budget is 2.5k

So, I was trying to find some routers, when I stumpled upon a couple of them, which claim to have 5 dbi antenna. I am guessing it means they have better range.

1. Netgear JNR1010 N150 Wireless Router (1450 on flipkart)
2. TP-LINK TL-WR841N 300Mbps Wireless N Router (1750 on flipkart)

What do you guys think? Is there any other router which could be better? I don't ever see myself using anywhere near 150 mbps speed... atleast not in the next 5 years.

Please guide...

I have a Tp-link 841N and it has excellent range. It is supported on openwrt trunk. Beware of a version which has 2MB flash. Any version of 7 or lower are a safe choice afaik.
