Yesterday i setup wireless at home using Netgear router.

Everything was going well till i realized that torrents speeds Crashed :( :(

Tried all sorts of port forwarding stuff etc but still the same story.

Some one please help me out with this

Tried all sorts of port forwarding stuff

there is no "all sorts of port forwarding" stuff :bleh:

there is only 1 right way which is your torrent apps port should be open to the web

try a port test at any port testing site to verify that the designated port is really open

& its called UPnP :P

how is your wireless signal strength? are you on linux or windows? can you check if the wifi link itself is providing you the required speeds... what if you move closer to/farther away from the router? i believe you can also change the "channel" on the router (at least i can on my linksys) so that you pick the frequency with least signal interference from other devices like cordless phone, microwave, vacuum cleaners etc...

when you say speeds "crashed" - what was the before and after speeds?

Who is your ISP provider?

Do you face the same speed with other downloads as well?

Any gain if the torrent communication is encrypted?

Let us know

I have a setup where the dataone modem is connected to the netgear, All I need to do is configure portforwarding on the dataone router. I did nothing on the netgear router. everything works fine for me.

and reduce the upload/download speeds to a few KBps below your actual speeds. It will actually help increase your average speeds :)
