NetSNSOR - Sound an alarm when internet disconnects and run batch file

Level N
Vmware installation in my machine has done something so weird that my 3G internet cannot connect through anything but Mobile partner and hence i cannot also make a connection using Cidial / windows standard dialer and hence no reconnect functionality is available.
Due to this even if i keep my net connection ON at night, it is bound to get disconnected (thanks to BSNL network) and then unnecessarily my PC remains ON entire night.
I wanted something that can sound an alarm when my net connection goes off and so i cannot immediately reconnect i found this tool called NetSNSOR

This tool can play a custom WAV file when it detects that there is no internet connection. We can keep an interval (in minutes) for the check to be done. We can also provide a name to batch file which gets executed in this case. The developer has given the RASDIAL command (in batch file) to reconnect the internet but for me since it is not working, i put a "shutdown /s /f /t 30" command to force close everything and shutdown the computer so that it does not stay on unnecessarily.

Not sure if this will help anyone but still you can try if you are facing similar issues.

PS: I am no way related to the developer and just posting here because i found this super useful for my needs.

i am not sure of what you are talking. but i will tell my experience.

recently formatted my windows and tried to download multiple files by connecting my nokia C5-00

connected my phone before the computer booted up since i wanted a complete discharge cycle for my phone to be done.

after some time i found my phone discharged and my Pc switched off too.

turned my pc on and found that PC had gone to hibernate state because i got disconnected.

so there is no need for this as PC hibernates on its own.

Btw at night i make PC volume zero so it does not disturb and also let the computer shutdown but in day time when someone is at home, the alarm rings and alerts that reconnection is necessary and i do so.

How does it hibernate on its own, is it because you have set it to do using something ?

For me it is not only for my night solution but for day time too when my net goes off and i can reconnect it immediately because i would know it quickly because of the alarm. I have set it to 2 Minutes.

If i say in gist...

1. I use mobile partner to connect to BSNL 3G. It is working.

2. Network issues, net disconnects, cannot reconnect because mobile partner has no such feature and i cannot use anything else.

3. So as soon as net goes off i get an alarm from PC and i go to my laptop and reconnect the internet and downloads continue.

4. In night time, i also set a batch file that gets executed when net disconnects and this batch file shutdowns the PC because i dont want to wake up in middle of night with a PC alarm just to reconnect my internet

^^Vmware is uninstalled and even after that it caused installation issues with my modem. So i had to run a script (available online) to remove all traces of Vmware and after that i was able to install mobile partner and my 3G modem.

Btw by going to services.msc, i should delete the service ??

Also in my case of not being able to use anything except mobile partner is more of a case where mobile partner is able to properly load the modem drivers and connect to internet while all other apps are not able to which boggles me and no solution for this till now :(

i think it may be because of the default power settings on windows 7.
i have not changed those settings.
also i had scheduled downloads in IDM. this might be the reason though i doubt that.
when i started my Pc from hibernate i saw the auto redial function running.
so in all probability it was the windows auto dialer which made it go in hibernation :)
