Hi

I am new to linux. I had installed F7 on my laptop yesterday(after reading the thread on f7 here). After overcoming the mouse, ntfs mount and sound problem next problem i am facing is with network.

I have smc adsl2+ router. I connect it to my laptop using Ethernet.

Now the problem begins.
I had tried
/sbin/route add -host 192.168.2.11 gw 192.168.2.1
and it is showing "SIOCADDRT: No such process"

Can anybody assist me. I need it badly so that I can switch to f7.

dont flame as I am not sure its correct.

Check if you have network driver installed properly or not. If you dont have network card/driver many network related service wont be running.

so check the network card .. i think called eth0/eth1 - I managed to use my network card, including wi-fi ..now back to windows already .. so cant really give you demo :)

get the card first .. then u should be able to configure. good luck !

nothing to flame about

I had made my net work on f7 using pppoe(ethernet). but i want to run internet using router login, so that both my desktop(using usb) and laptop(using lan) can have net access.
