Hi i am gonna buy my first bike in may... Budget around 50-55K(on road)...
I have zeroed in on the yamaha gladiator for its styling and performance... Is there any other bike at this price point better than gladiator... sugestions plz...:)

Ya but its 5K more than the gladiator... Cant extend budget that much... Plus i heard its mileage is not good compared to the gladiator

Glad-he-ate-her (gladiator pronounced the right way ;))

Yamaha's have never been famous for mileage. So think before you buy. Haven't been able to test ride either so wont comment.

Yamaha Gladiator has beaten all its rivals in the 125cc segment(various shootouts) !

What's more you now get sportier versions, the RS & SS.

Honda Stunner is the best option if you can afford it...

But for the best refinement & smoothness, it's got to be the Honda Shine.

get TVS Flame...all-in-one package
looks like a bigger bike from rear..got confused the first few times i saw that bike..

Lots of options. But do tell about your frame as well i.e. tall, average, short and build thin, athletic, heavy. After all you need something which suits you as well. The shine is good enough for short to average height and is the smoothest of the lot, next comes Hero honda and then Bajaj. Can't comment on flame.

Tall people should go for gladiator or stunner.

Hope this helped.

Cheers,

MHI

Bajaj's XCD 135cc

Discover DTSi are nice ones..

Also checkout for Honda Unicorn if your budget can be extendable..

I am tall... About 6'1 and heavy built... Will gladiator suit me.... Ya i too read lots of reviews and zeroed in on the gladiator.... Plus there is no honda showroom in my town... So that would be a problem for service and the shine is very plain looking.... Anyone who owns a gladiator??? comments on the bike pls.... :)

whoaaa. welcome to the club bro. At 6'1 and heavy built even gladiator would be a tad undersized. wait for a month and arrange for the moolah. Get the unicorn. Trust me you wont repent it. I stand at 6 feet and heavy built and unicorn feels just made for me. extending your budget by 10k will get you a bike which will give you trouble free experience. Even if you need to get it from a nearby town/city its worth the pain. Shine is a big No No.

And yeah a Royal Enfield will suit you the most. Try to get your hands onto a second hand one.

if no honda showroom then no honda bikes(soemtime servicing can be a pain)...though even i'd suggest you unicorn, shine big nono..you should look for stunner but only if any showroom is near(atleast 15km) from your home and if you are less then 25 year old :P ..
ohh yes Gladiator is a good bike probably i'd have taken it when i bought my first bike, but got unicorn..only let down for gladiator was it was costing around 56k+ that time, so i felt unicorn was a better option, and yes since then never ever got any problem, other then usual stuffs like break shoe..since last year it has gone for servicing only twice and overall 25K+ done on the bike :) and yes my avg speed on road is around 60+ so i'm not that good in driving :P ...

I am only 21:hap2: Ya the nearest showroom to me is trichy and its some 50 km from my home:( Plus budget constraints... Cant afford to spend 65K(though i would love to get a 150cc unicorn) So for my height and budget(55K on road) gladiator seems to be ok i guess... Any gladiatorites:cool2: plz post ur experience with the bike...

I have the gladiator SS, great bike, looks cool, its little bigger than most 125cc bikes, got it for 52.5K.

Avg is around 50km
