Storage Solutions New 300/320GB HDD.. which one?

Coming back home for a week on the 8th. Need a new 300/320GB HDD, inclined to go with Seagate because of the 5 year warranty dealio. This one (ST3300622AS ) -> 7200.9 300GB looks good,two platter (?), excellent performance. No need to go to 320GB 7200.10, right?

Also, are there any alternatives? Hitachi or WD? Approximate prices?
 
^ANything larger in that Hitachi range? I have 320GB installed, + a USB2 80GB drive outside.. Would ideally like their 300/320GB offering... do they have one out here?
 
Well, everyone will have larger drives :P Just that the hitachi 250 gives the most bang for your bucks :D Of course, if you come to know of a better deal for bigger drives, do let me know :D
 
dude get the 320gb 7200.10
its the new hdd with perpendicular recording. check the review at anandtech. its for 5300rs. just 200rs more than 300gb 7200.9. the 7200.10 is the hdd to get atm.
 
^Yeah, but they reviewed the 750GB drive. What are the platter sizes on the 320GB drive?

I think i might be in for a 250gb or 320gb 7200.10 too. Looking to spend 4.5k MAX :(

Think we can negotiate for deals? I know another friend Jaffer whos interested too..

u might get little discount. let me know how many yall want. ill talk n see what i can do.

i cant buy right now. i might buy 1 in sept when i have the cash. u guys can go ahead now

me too in...was lookin for 250gb one..but i guess already 5+ ppl interested in bigger one...add me 2 ...i guess we can get a good discount atlest.........
 
@ everyone. dont expect a good discount just cause u buy 5- 10hdds. u will get a little discount. cause ppl at lamington road they usually dont keep a big margin of profit in most stuff.

let me know how many hdds u guys want. i will try n work out a deal for yall. yall already know the price of a single piece. dont expect a discount of 500- 800rs cause i feel that isnt possible. if it happens then u guys are lucky.

also whoever is sure post. dont say later that u dont want etc. & u dont like the price n all that crap. yall know the single price. whatever less yall get is a discount. so whoever is interested only post.
 
hmm stormy........so we goin as if we will have to pay 5.3k......for single.......320gb one...seagate sata.........

well i m in........but i think the non sata according to comp warehouse is 4.7k.....and sata price must differ by 200(as we c price of 80,120,160,200gb ones).....so i guess if we wait some time we might get the stuff a little cheaper......but if still u guys need it urgently then too i m in..........

also if its hitachi one i would b more than happy...but seagate is fine..and samsung strict no........
