just downloaded and installed the ATI Linux Driver from ati.amd.com
Surprisingly, these install in just two or three clicks and then one just has to run aticonfig from the command line.
Just a note of info for those people dreading ATI installs on linux.
Ps:you need kernel sources
installed.
