new broadband connection in kolkata

using bsnl broadband for last 5 years... home 500: 2.5 gB: 2 mbps : 2-8 am ul..

spd is gd,ping bad,utube sucks, data limit sucks:@:@:@:@, though night ul provides muvies and games...

but enough is enough and want to move to a unlimited connction and get rid of bsnl bb...

so is there any 1 mbps ul or similar ( fup with 50-60 gB is gd as i dnt cross that limit ) plans avlbl from any servc provider ????,, cable, any other isp will do..

I am an user of wishnet for about one year now.No FUP,good ping,but first talk to your cablewalah,many of them are still stuck with the crappy Alliance.
 
Check if your area has reliance. Although I have heard complaints but I am kind of satisfied so far. Good upload rates which translates to good online gaming. Decent speeds with no FUP. Comparatively cheaper. But QoS might not be as good as Airtel ( yes, I used airtel and got rid of it because of effing FUP). If you opt for 1mbps plan, reliance speeds will limit to arnd 900kbps as opposed to 1.2 mbps for airtel.

btw what is the diffrnc in mode of servc providing for relnc broadband plans with combo and wthout combo??

I am on a combo plan, which basically means you get both the hone and broadband usage. I pay a total of 812 rs per month (inclusive of taxes) and the plan is supposed to be 512 kbps in day and 1 mbps at night with 50 free calls every month. Although in reality i get around 700-800kbps(D/L) and 600-700kbps(U/L) at day and 900-950 kbps (D/L) and 700+ kbps(U/L) at night.

thats bad.. what i have seen from other members in diff forums they do get full 1 mbps in the night time...
