HEY guys !

I am becoming a gaming freak day by day .

So , I wanted to know which ISP to choose for online gaming !

I currently have BSNL and I have heard that BSNL sucks as far as online gaming is concerned
<

Because of their bad rooting and all .

Should I try it out for online gaming or should I switch to cable internet providers .

How do their pings compare (as they are most important for gaming) ?

Also I don' t have AIRTEL in my area and Reliance service is not up to the mark .

So no Airtel and reliance . Only left with

1) BSNL 2) Cable
<

I have even uploaded result from speed test (if it helps ) choosing any random US server

I've heard a lot of bad things about sify (at least in my area) .

Also I've heard that sify has worse pings than BSNL (ping is my main concern)

Not so sure though .

Any sify user here ?

Im using sify and yes ping is a issue but plans are awesome... I'm using 2 MBPS for Rs. 1540 per month unlimited (no FUP)

Thanks .

I know plans are pretty kicka** .

But I don't download much (1-2 movies and you-tube vids) .

I just wan't to know ISP that can gimme better latencies in gaming than BSNL .

If reliance provides better , I might think about it . But IDTS .

I am currently using BSNL too in hyderabad and the ping is fine with me. i think BSNL more reliable ping than the other private service providers in my area. Just my opinion.

@joel.monty ,

thanks for your reply .

I know hathway provides best pings for online gaming , and their jitter is very little , but unfortunately , they don't provide their services in Nagpur :sob: .

@rakesh_ic

Also are these cable broadband operators reliable or am I better off with Bsnl and high pings ?

BSNL is Ok for gaming. ping to mumbai and see . If its less than 100 its enough for gaming .

Yes !

pings are pretty good for mumbai server .

So I guess I should stay with good ol' BSNL !

Thanks for help to all of you guys !

Looking for deals on Battlefield 3 .

yup stick on with BSNL. i get a ping less than 100 everytime i try both on Chennai and Mumbai servers. And I play BF3 a lot too (now a days i am more onto LOL than BF3) and i dont find any lag.

BSNL doesnt suck as far as gaming is concerned , it just does about enuf , i get 35-55 ping for CS 1.6 from Goa to Mumbai , my friend in pune also gets almost same.

The problem with cable net is they are not stable , they provide constant losses and chokes which disrupt your gameplay even though your ping may tend to be on the lower side.

Also.. BSNL has better infrastructure compared to the servers of private vendors (whos aim is milking money) and this contributes to the ping.

What the hell !

No Hathway , no FiveNET , no Failtel in Nagpur
<

Only reliance , BSNL and sify .

So sticking with BSNL for now and will update as soon as any of the above are launched in NGP .
