hey guys i need 2 buy a cabinet for my comp asap since ill b assembling it over the wekend

lookin for a cabinet WITHOUT a psu as ill be getting a antec neo he 500

reqs in the cabinet
good cooling(fans fans fans)
if possible side transparent

nothin else req nothin dhinchak either coz of budget

3-3.5k MAX

lol..The Jamaica has provision for 2 x 80mm fans on the side. 120mm rear and front, an 80mm for the HDD cage and a 80mm exhaust on the top. Its a bit heavier than a regular ATX Cabby, but not as heavy as I thougt at first. believe me, I used to have an old Mercury Micro ATX cabby that was as heavy as the Jamaica.

I got it for 3.2k without PSU and added a Neo HE 500. At its price, I think its the best for people looking for a roomy cabby with good ventilation.

The Pyamid looks the same as Jamaica on the inside. Only difference is the front biezel and presence of a small LCD for temperature display and absense of the top exhaust and handle on the top which are present in Jamaica. Its price is also same.

I wanted to do a review of this cabby ever since I got it, but I get lazy :eek:hyeah: on the weekends. let me see if I can post some pics.
 
get that chieftec cabinet i had posted about. its for 3.5k. is a great solid cabinet. build quality is on par if not better than antec.

would the chieftec quality be good enough not to rust ?or not to rust as fast
 
The only drawback of the vip zb-01 is that the "normal" sata connectors on the hdd are a "very tight fit" when you close that metallic door / partition inside the case.
most probably because the zb-01 was designed before the advent of sata.
if you can use that "L" type sata connector then no problems.

The chieftec case is good too. first choice really.

zeby's jamaica i have never seen so cannot comment, but blueyesdude and others are happy with it.

so i suggest you go to the market and actually check out these 3 models and make an "on the spot" decision depending upon ur wants and budget.
 
^^yeah dj has a point, am using the normal sata connectors and fitting the side panel is a pita....the zebby jamaica is the EXACT same cabby as the zb-01, the only diff being diff bezels n top usb for the jamaica...
imho go for the chieftec....overall build quality will be better than the zb01
harshal is using the cabby, if i remember right

^Which of the Chieftec models is harshal using? The BH01?
3.5K for that is a steal!
Can't see 120mm intake fan though.. only those 80mm x2 for the HDD and 1x120mm exhaust. Does it have a 120mm intake fan?

A few months ago i had picked up a batch of "L" shaped sata cables for a price....well i am a known miser in these maters.:eek:hyeah: (about Rs.20/- each)

eazy, if you can send somebody to my place you can have 2 (or more) of those as complimentary and a show of our gratitude for ur humorous and informative posts.

@ appo, darky will give you some i am sure ....otherwise i am sure you have "ways" and "means" of convincing him:D
 
Net down- just here!!:

The ZB and clones have a side bracket for 2 fans but does the side panel have holes in it to suck in fresh air or those fans just recirculate the air inside??:S

The link at bottom shows my next budget cabby for b**ch Rig:p - Chieftec something- 3.5k or lower now- SLB on top!!
Had seen pics and though almost similar to ZB-01 and clones, has loads of super cool features!!
-Dedicated side intake fans for HDD cooling +intake filters!!
-Lockable side panel and maybe front too!!
- Tool less (Almost)!!
-Side vents for cpu and gfx card cooling!!
-USB and front audio connectors on right lower side of Bezel!!:eek:hyeah:
Better finish compared to ZB, from pics at least!!

ZB-01/Jamaica is still the best bangs for the buck- provided judicious use of fans to maintain good airflow- huge, so loads of space inside, full ATX mobo looks like m-atx in pics:p- a bit too heavy and big for the Desk unless u got a desk like Switch.:p

There was a Chieftec cabby which Stormblast had posted on TE- 2 TE members(one of them was Harshal's friend i think) got that for 3.5k each- maybe lower now:eek:hyeah: - Looked like a good substitute- both in form and function to the ZB and clones.:)

searching threads on TE is not as cool now- cannot find that thread.
