^^Thanks for the exhaustive list. :) You really answered more than I expected.

Now finally I have i20, swift and figo in mind. I can't wait for my exams to be over. It will take 2 weeks at max.

Thanks again.

consider skoda fabia also i purchased petrol version in January. it is very spacious and good car. and SKODA is really trying to remove their older ghost stories of bad A.S.S.

Why isn't Indica Vista Quadrajet diesel mentioned in any list?

It is a good car spacious and amazingly silent inside the passenger cabin unlike some of the famous hatchbacks. but, Tata's Service is bad. the Cars are branded Vista included as "Indica Taxi Car" by common public embarrassing owners. Also body parts quality will not be matching Japanese,German brands. with Vista or any Tata Car, make sure to go for underbody coat and interior panel protection from 3M or like companies with good warranty.

build quality, reliability have surely improved and even better than Swift!. but, TASS fails to even resolve some basic issues. if Tata Service is very good in Your place, may be consider a Tata Vista. Even with Concorde, I am not lucky although I have not much complaints owning it for almost 3 years.

Had a nice time reading this thread. My dad also want to buy a diesel car in same budget (6-7L). I am watching this thread..

I own a diesel Ritz that has clocked 20k kms
Total of 7k I have spent on maintaining in 2yrs. 20k service costs 5k , because they change most of the filters.
Totally reliable and trouble free experience.

My parents own a diesel Swift at home, which too is too good.
Ritz is more mature and refined in terms of handling , spacious too.
Ritz is slightly more comfortable on highways and long journeys compared to swift. Swift is more suited for city driving.

Other than ford Figo no other diesel hatch comes so close in decision making. It has a poor ground clearance, non power Windows at rear.

My advice would be
Swift
Ritz (if don't want to wait)
Figo

Take a test drive of all the three before you decide. Especially Ritz !!
:):):):)

I purchased Chevy Beat Diesel 3 months back and I am loving it.

Very easy to drive in City and excellent responsive engine.

You should definitely consider it, the LT version should fitin within 6L budget of your it costed me 5.8L OTR in Surat Gujarat in March.

And also can anyone tell me how much will be the cost for good quality seat covers in mumbai? my bro is getting it for me from mumbai.

first of all a healthy congratulations.the car looks stunning in that colour.

art leather can be found anywhere from 6 k to 10 k depending on the type of cover you want.
regular fabric costs as low as 2 k.

Chevrolet Beat diesel is the best option for you it is one of the top most fuel efficient car in India till now it delivers a mileage of 24 kmpl that sounds good.

Skoda Fabia, I would say.

A nice solidly built European hatchback, also pretty spacious.(That makes it better than polo)
