New cdma iPhone registration in India

Guys,

I won brand new iPhone (original ) for cdma Verizon for 400$.

Now question is what to do with cdma.

Its clean esn phone.

so shall I bring it over and will it activate here on cdma?

What are my options?

Not totally related to your thread or query, the phone you have got seems to be the 8GB Model that people here got for 99$ + taxes without contract due to a goofup on apple's website. Even people got iPhone 4S 32GB for 299$ WITHOUT contract but locked to sprint network. I had ordered the 16GB 4S but apple cancelled all the 16GB orders and also recalled many of the already shipped 32GB models.

But many lucky folks got the iPhone for cheap.

Deal is worth IF you can get it registered here on CDMA network. Also 400 USD is a good price for a new iPhone 4 probably.

offtopic: If one searches on ebay.com for 4S 32GB sprint locked and find it cheaper than FU ones, don't be surprised as all these are from those lucky people who scored them due to apple's goofup.
 
what you suggest as you have done lot of research on this iphone .

i have contacts with tata indicom guys.

will it work to get both things work or i say pass on this deal?
 
As i said, if you can get the MEID/ESN (or whatever it is) registered on tata indicom and make it work, it is good deal. I remember someone here having contacts in reliance to register their phone in reliance.

Btw what do you mean by "Both things work" ??

Sorry for hijacking and OT ,what was the goofup?

@OP i havent heard any one using CDMA iphone in India.

both things means data (EVDO) and voice :ohyeah:

Here is the story...

As many of you know, if one wants to buy an apple iPhone on contract through apple.com then the process is

Choose iphone 4/4S -> choose carrier -> check eligibility -> Pay 199$ + taxes -> get the phone LOCKED to the chosen network

Now the goofup was that the steps in bold above were somehow missing for a time period on apple's website due to their own goofup and this thing went live on many deals website. People ordered iPhones without contract (but locked) for the contract price.
So 32GB 4S for 299, 16B 4S for 199, 8GB Iphone 4 for 99$
Apple quickly plugged this mistake and corrected this butshipped all the iPhone 4 and people ended up with a 99$ iPhone 4 8GB without contract and they sold on ebay to earn 300% or so profit.
Apple even shipped many 32GB 4S directly from Shenzhen, China and people got that too :O
But after 2 days, apple cancelled all 16GB 4S orders (one of them was mine :( ), so we were not lucky enough.
They even intercepted many of the iPhone 4S 32GB shipments and before they reached the customers, they were recalled back.
 
Guys,

Did quick search in eBay India.

IPhone 4 is available with activated reliance cdma for 26000.

So its possible definitely

^^ you have contacts with tata people then no need to worry, already many people are using CDMA iphone4 on reliance ,checkout rimweb forums.
 
Why no data working connection?

Considering esn change,how about changing esn to some data cards esn?

Is it possible to change esn of iPhone?
