NVIDIA's G92 mid-range graphics chip is provisionally set to launch on November 12th this year, while the launch date of the entry-level G98 still remains unknown, according to DigiTimes. NVIDIA plans to replace the GeForce 8800GTS series with the G92, while the G98 will replace entry-level products in the GeForce 8 series. The G92 will support PCI Express 2.0, HDMI, PureVideo Gen 3 and Display Port, while the chip will adopt a 65nm process. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will manufacture the chips. Despite the new chip designs, G92 and G98 can only be considered an update of the GeForce 8 series since they will not include any major changes.:hap2:

This is what I am waiting for......if I dont buy a 8800GTS first :hap5:

means the 'g92' will be slower than the gtx? or it will be a replacement for the g80 but also be faster than the ultra/gtx? or slower than ultra but faster than the 8800 gts? and price estimation compared to the 8800 gts? will/not work with pcie rev 1.0?

will it be g92 anyway

hey u bought that new card 8800 gtx with water cooler :S

but g92 is main stream card

some card g98 higher will surely beat g80 card :p

They r only going to be mainstram refreshed GPUs with better thermals....Current GTX and Ultra will stay at the top.

Don't think too much about it, the 8800GTS is a good card and will serve you well for at least a couple of years (at least 1-1.5) before you will have to play at anything below medium-high settings. Just chill, and enjoy your purchase, no point in trying to beat technology, sometimes u get lucky with the timing of the purchase, sometimes you don't. :)
