Hi Guys.

I am planning to buy a new rig this diwali. My budget is 50k +/- 5k Please post your suggestions.
Below is some of my requirements.

1) I need a entire system with monitors, keyboard etc but without speakers and UPS.
2) I need a 22" monitor and min 500 GB of HD space and 4gb of ram.
3) The system should be upgradeable with minimum effort (after 2years) and should provide good performance for at least 2 years.
4) It should provide good gaming performance in a 22" monitor.
5) I don't need costly cabinets and coolers.
6) I am ready to sacrifice some performance for money.
7) I don't overclock but might do some in future.

Here are some of my suggestions and concerns.

AMD Phenom X4 9950 - 9k
AMD 790GX - 6K
Transcend Ram 4GB - 3.5K
WD 640GB - 3.5k
HD4850 - 9k
cabinet -1k
Viewsonic 22" - 12k
keyboard + mouse - 1k
Cooler Master 500w SMPS - 2.5k

Reasons for choosing AMD Rig
1) Amd quad can be easily over clocked (If I am doing so).
2) AM2+ socket is future proof unlike LGA775 of intel.
3) HD4850 works better with AMD mobo and processor (Is it so?)
4) Can save some money. :eek:hyeah:

Questions
1) Does the integrated HD3300 and HD4850 can be put in hybrid Crossfire.
If yes how the performance will be.
2) How C2D and phenom match in gaming ( As far as I know there is only some 5 to 10 fps difference as gaming depends on GPU and not CPU)
3) Do I have to go for intel rig instead of this?
4) Can HD4870 be added to this config without adding extra amount (max budget 55k)
4) And of course any other valuable suggestions please. :)

Thanks in Advance

Well, me too trying to put a system in same budget.

While my config is not final yet, it is based on Intel. you can checkout details here: http://www.techenclave.com/pc-peripherals/config-for-50k-120755.html

it will give you some idea. If you can wait, I will put my final configuration in the thread in three to four days.

Reasons for choosing AMD Rig
1) Amd quad can be easily over clocked (If I am doing so). Any Intel C2D/C2Q can also be easily overclocked provided you have a decent pair of RAM sticks.
2) AM2+ socket is future proof unlike LGA775 of intel. Thats mere FUD!! Ultimately you're abt to invest in a non-future proof solution no matter how much ever you invest in. Today's tech is obsolete tomorrow. Current gen Intel LGA 775 solutions would last a while before Nehalem becomes mainstream. No one knows if AMD's bringing another platform in some time and if that happens while you invest in an AM2+ platform, your decision's futile!!
3) HD4850 works better with AMD mobo and processor (Is it so?) Crap. Works equally good with any intel combo for that matter.
4) Can save some money. :eek:hyeah: Yeah and can equally compromise on performance as well. :p

Questions
1) Does the integrated HD3300 and HD4850 can be put in hybrid Crossfire.
If yes how the performance will be. No you cant do that. You need to read up more on hybrid CF. You can only pair a 34xx series card in hybrid CF.
2) How C2D and phenom match in gaming ( As far as I know there is only some 5 to 10 fps difference as gaming depends on GPU and not CPU) True, you need to ensure your CPU doesn't bottleneck the GPU. Nevertheless, if you invest the same 9k for a processor from Intel, you can definitely ensure better performance.
3) Do I have to go for intel rig instead of this? YES!!!
4) Can HD4870 be added to this config without adding extra amount (max budget 55k) You can squeeze a 4870 into this rig provided you shell out another 5 grand!! Check the config I've suggested.
4) And of course any other valuable suggestions please. :)

Thanks in Advance

Intel E7200 - 5.9k
Asus P5Q - 8k
2x2GB Transcend sticks - <4k
640GB WD AAKS - 3.8k
HD 4870 - ~16.5k/HD4850 - 9.5k
Samsung SH223B - 1.2k
Corsair VX450 - 3.4k
CM590 - 3.2k
No clue abt the 22 inchers but the Viewsonic VX2235WM should be fine [hoping that warranty should not be an issue :p]. Set apart 15k for the LCD.

Totals to roughly 61k.

The AMD route is a decent idea, but if you really want a good gaming rig for your money stick to an Intel config for now. I dont think you can bank on the idea of upgrading your system after 2 years.

Also, the ATI 4850 will work fine on Intel, no such thing as it working better on an AMD platform :)

The config suggested above by Gannu / Gunman is great for your needs. A Viewsonic VA2226w 22" LCD costs about 10.5k , so if you total it all up it comes to about 45k!
