Hi,
Almost bought a PC in January but it never happened. But this time i'm sure its happening. This is a config which i found in a recent Thread...looks perfect:hap2:.Covers everything i need.

Config by Karthi007:
Processor: Athlon II X4 635 -5.15k
Motherboard: Biostar mobo TA785G3 - 3.65k
RAM: Corsair 2GB DDRIII 1333MHz - 2.75k
GPU: Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 - 10k
HDD: WD 500GB Blue AAKS 16MB buffer- 2.4k
Cabinet: NZXT Gamma - 1.8k
SMPS: Corsair VX450 - 4k
Optical Drive: Sony DVD R/W SATA - 1.1k

-->I'm using my roommates' 20-inch CRT monitor for now...
-->I use my pc only for gaming and graphics programming

Question:
>>Is there anything i can compromise on to fit in 2 more GB of RAM...maybe cheap out on the psu??becoz from what i've heard HD5770 consumes little power...
>>Is there an intel i3 config that can match this price and performance wise??

For intel
Processor: Core i3 - 530- 6k
Motherboard: Intel DH55TC - 5.6k/Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 -6.2k
Rest of config as above & u can go for Gigabyte superb 460w - 2.2k.
Then u can add 2gb ram more.

BTW , no offense intended

OP needs quad core for graphics processing

Yes you can tweak the config a little more

Processor: Athlon II X4 635 -5.15k

Motherboard: Biostar mobo TA785G3 - 3.65k

RAM: Transcend 2x2GB DDR3 1333mhz - 5.2k

GPU: Sapphire HD5770 1GB GDDR5 - 10k

HDD: WD 500GB Blue AAKS 16MB buffer- 2.4k

Cabinet: NZXT Gamma - 1.8k

SMPS: Gigabyte Pro 460W - 2.2k

Optical Drive: Sony DVD R/W SATA - 1.1k

Total : 31.5k

Thanks Sumit...But this is a lot costier option than AMD(5k+3.65k) for mobo and proccy..the quad core is probably better since i also meddle around with game engines and it takes a lot of compilation time sometimes...
on a completely unrelated note, how much do u think this laptop will sell for??
Toshiba Satellite A135
purchase date :~3 years back
Intel Centrino Duo 1.6 ghz
15.4 inch LCD screen
1 GB ram
160 GB HDD
Vista Home Premium 32-bit
Intel GMA 950 graphics adapter
Wireless
DVD-RW Drive
Charger and all purchase papers and manuals included...
Perfect physical and working condition...except for a little scratch on the body....
need to know...very urgent...

Why are u suggesting the Core i3 config?? Give some serious backing that it is better cost-wise + overall performance wise compared to the Athlon II X4....

IMHo, get this:-

Transcend 2*2=4GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 @ 4.4k

Gigabyte 460W @ 2.2k

Seagate 500GB @ 2.4k(performs much faster IMHO)

Cm Elite 310 @ 1.5k

Thank u all u guys are the best:clap:
I still have 3 weeks till i buy but i think i'll finalize this setup...
Final questions:
Config by Anubis...

>>>one change I want to make:
cooler master 310 instead of NXZT(CM looks cooler to me)...this should be ok???
>>>What are the chances of Gigabyte Pro 460W blowing up in my face??Will the hd 5770 be too much for it??I dont overclock or mess around with hardware....If PSU will last for atleast three years without problems i think i will finalize this setup...Please reply...

It sells in another forum called E by thunder.02dragon

He is a dealer from kolkata. So i guess it should be available there.

yeah right, but it's always better to be on the safe side just to protect ur precious rig

^I might be seeing things but why is your reputations red colour ? Are you having permanent infractions or negative reputations ?

Anyways coming back to topic , FSP Saga II will do but for your hearts safety conscience buy Gigabyte Pro 460W . It should be more than enough
