Ok i need a new Graphics card for my rig!
My PC specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom II X2 550 unlocked to X4 B50 @ 3.31Ghz
2GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM
Gigabyte MA785US-2H Motherboard with a PCI-ex slot
Cooler Master Elite 310 Cabinet
Cooler Master 460W PSU
Currently using a ZOTAC Nvidia GTS250 512MB @Stock settings
Please advise a suitable upgrade and Budget is around 6K

Get ati hd 6770-6.5k+corsair cx430 v2-2.2k/seasonic s12ii 430w-2.6k,add 2gb ram to the rig it will improve the performance and change the psu as i have mentioned cause cm 460w psu is not enough. It will blow up if you try to run with the gpu.
Above mentioned psus are 80+ certified.:)

What are the games you are going to play?? At what resolution are you going to play??

Considering your present PSU, I will suggest you 6670 1gb just to be on safer side.

If you want a powerful GPU then get a 6770. IMO you should spend more money get a good PSU in near future. For some time running 6770 on a CM460 can be considered. Even a seasonic SS 400 at 2.1K would be lot better

hmm i intend to play games like Arkham City, BF3, AC:Revelations and such new titles. I game at 160x900 and all settings high. My GTS250 gave me great performance for the past two years but of late it started giving me black screens and almost everytime i started my PC i would have to restart it around 5 times minimum to get the display to work!So that's why i want a new GPU. Btw the PSU upgrade may not be possible now but will do so in another 3 to 4 months! Please suggest if i can get the 6770 or the 5770 or any suitable card!

PS Where do i get a HD 6770 for 6.5K??I live in Kolkata so please suggest likewise!!

Buy psu with the 6770,don't buy the gpu alone your existing psu will blow up and your reso must be 1600x900.you might have to keep the graphic setting at mid or high without AA for the latest games.

Are you sure it is your Gts 450 and not your cm 460 watt at fault.Gts 450 has a tdp of 150 watt which i think is just a little too much for psu too given the fact that your system is more than 2 years old. Ageing of the capacitors might have taken place on your, psu maybe that is why it can't handle the load with ease as it used to do earlier when it was new. So try checking your gts 450 at your friends house first.
You can try out mdcomputers and vedant in kolkata.

IMO,a HD 6770 won't be a huge upgrade especially on the resolution you game on. I suggest you to try RMa'ing your card first,if its under warranty. If that doesn't work out then you should surely go in for the HD 6770.
