Graphic Cards new graphics card in pcie 1

hey guys i've got a motherboard with pcie 1 X16 written in specs.was just wondering if a radeon 4850 will work cause am planning to buy,from the other forum.!!!!
any help appreciated..has anyone tried this before?let me know and thanks in advance....

Yes it'll work. My geforce 8800 also ran on a pci-e 1.0 board just fine.
