Recently got the new Intel based Power Mac (Developer Test Machines) in our Office. The chasis for this Test Mac is the same Alluminium kind that is used for the Power Mac G5 Machines. Seems like the only hardware difference is the Pentium 4 3.6 GHz Extreme Edition processor and the 915 based MoBo. With this the Only Non PC hardware left in the Mac is now gone. The OS is Tiger 10.4.2 x86 version. How ever the applications compiled in the Power Mac are directly running on the Intel mac Also. There must be some kind of emulation layer as the Processor Architectures are different. However the Mac OS X seems to be quite fast on the P4 and comparable to the 2 Ghz Dual Processor G5 I am using.

People have already cracked the x86 version of the Mac OS and running it on their Pentium as well as Athlon 64 Machines. Any one here tried it on their Athlon Machines yet?
