Flipkart is absolutely reliable,bought many things from them without a hitch.

Me too from Kolkata.

The dm1z model they have is slightly older than the current AMD E450.

Extended warranty for Vaio is very cheap(2.5k)

I've been trying to find reviews for these laptops, but have been largely unsuccessful.

Even getting a comparison of mobile processors isn't easy.

From what I gathered the Pentium B940 is a tad faster than the P6200.
The E-350 is quite slow, but should give the best battery life.
The B940, and Celeron B800 are Sandy Bridge based, and the chipsets have better graphics and are generally more advanced than the chipset of the P6200.
I'm not sure if the Sandy Bridges would have better battery life than the P6200.

The only reasons I can think of for choosing a more expensive B940/Celeron B800/ AMD E-350 processor over the nice and cheap P6200 would be
1) better connectivity (HDMI)
2) Flash/video decoding by the GPU/APU/chipset
and
3)better battery life.

Ordering from Flipkart is pretty easy...I have not bought any laptop from there,but bought a lot of books and 5 external hdd and some mobile phone casesalong with pen drives micro sds etc.You just need to fill a form up with your email i.d,address,phone no etc,no need to register to the site if you do not want to.Just select COD as mode of payment,and you are done.

They never asked me about form 50.

After you have placed an order,they will call you to verify your address.

I personally never faced any problem with Flipkart

Confused Between the Vaio and The Lenovo

I Like Vaio Because -

1.Its Small and light weight (1.46 Kg)

2.Latest AMD APU So Graphics performance will Be Better

3.Its Vaio

I like the Lenovo because

1.Better proccy b800 Has 1471/B950 has 1992 on cpubenchmark.net where vaio's e450 has only 763

2.500GB HDD

3.15.6 inch screen (Still Not sure whether i like it or hate it)

Lenovo weighs almost double of Vaio

Dunno How Vaio's AMD A50M FCH Graphics compares to Lenovo's Mobile Intel HM65 Express Chipset

Dunno about The Display quality

On the whole still unsure If lenovo's Extra bulk both in terms of size and weight will be worth it...

and then there Is this Toshiba...its Never easy to Choose :(

You forgot to add the extended warranty factor for both the laptops, for 3 yrs warranty(original warranty+2yrs extended warranty), you will have to spend 2.5k for the vaio and its more than 5k for lenovo.
 
O.P,if you have not bought it already,I would suggest you to strike off the hp dm1z,which I suggested in my post.

My suggestion was based on what I have read about it online and probably one review in TE too.

Today I used one the whole day...and boy!!This thing sucks!!!It can not handle anything,other than browsing and music.It can not even handle superlight software like Easy Clinic smoothly,with just winamp in the background.

HD playback is a joke too!!

It heats up like anything and the fan is loud like a windmill.

Only good thing is the weight and battery life.

The guy who bought it last month is much more tech savy than me,did a clean install of Widows a week ago,upped the RAM to 6 gigs and it still feels only 10-20%better than those shitty Atoms.
 
^^AFAIK> APU works pretty well, I can do multitasking with around 4-5 apps running when I had the setup with me.

As for the noise HP has issued a bios which fixes it, also one should enable coolsense while working. HD Playback works fine not matter what bit rate the file has, tested till 40Mbps bit rate m2ts format .

I know thats a desktop variant but there isn't much of a performance diff. friend has a Sony Vaio YB + other has Asus 1215b.

There must be driver or implementation malfunctioning , Hp Dm1z works file and the loudness issue can be fixed with BIOS update.
 
Yes,something must be wrong with the one I used today.

The guy who bought it,told me things are worse after fresh install.
