http://dellstore.sg.dell.com/public/default.jsp?c=in&s=bsd&l=en&prd_id=40815

2) HP Pavilion dv2200

HP Pavilion dv2200 Entertainment Notebook PC series specifications - HP Home & Home Office products

ANy more models ??

Plan to buy it tomorrow...so help would be appreciated.

:)

Will be buying it from a dealer in lamington.

Dont know about the DELL thingy though...i.e. i dont think DELL notebooks would be available with a local store and would be required to buy them exclusively through their site or something?

Warranty and support is also a concern... as more often that not my 5 yr old niece will be fiddling with the notebook when its unattended at home..

Waiting for ur suggestions...

EDIT : oops ....missed the thread started by subushady.... sorry abt that.

If you plan for movie watching on the lappie then be warned that the HP dv2200 is a 14" so you may wanna do a comparison between the HP dv6000t vs the Inspiron 6400.. :)

Dell products can be bought only online.

They offer complete care warranty on desktops and laptops which covers accidental damage including water spillage, drop, etc.....which might be helpful for you....:hap2:

57k is a no no...unless the distributor (who's an acquaintance of my bro-in-law) brings it down to 50k...

will be going in a couple of hrs now to check if there any additional models with the distributor...

for now its either dv2200 / dv6200(if below 50k) or Dell Inspiron 6400...

Bought the HP Pavilion Dv2214....

awesome lappy...

one funny thing though..the spec sheet from the dealer and on the box all mention a 1.6 ghz processor, whereas it is a 1.73 ghz proccy. funny.

(forgot the proccy names, as im not a laptop enthusiast)

final verdict...for 51.5k, this is an awesome piece.
