New LCD TV...which one?

Hey guys ,

I need to know which are the good 36" & 42" LCD TV's available??

Requirements :
A Full HD support
HDMI ports
DVI ( if possible )
HDCP
brands that I have shortlisted --> Sony / Samsung / Sharp / Hitachi ...

budget is around 60-65 kz for the 42"cher...

also , I am getting the BenQ E2200HD ...hows it?? currently I am on the LG 1730S

I have to decide on the LCD TVs asap...have to buy it before Diwali :)

I am also looking for 32" & will be getting a demo in the showroom for Philips, I am told that within nest 7-10 days many companies will be launching new models with some discounts thrown in for diwali.

Philips has got 3 new models/ sony has 1 new model/lg too has got 1 new model & toshiba also has a range of their Regza series.

How is BenQ- after sales service support?

BenQ E2200HD is a monitor not an LCD TV
 
Hmm..thanx for the info on the new models launch..

I really want to buy the Toshiba..its just pure excellence...but might be outta budget..

lets see..I am going to Lotus ( Electronic superstore ) right now to check out the mentioned above...
 
Ragz..are u sure ?? coz in the other thread ppl are talking about the Sony W series...

also , which is better? getting it locally or getting it from S'pore/ Dubai ?

well the best place to buy lcds are thailand,100% of all sony lcds sold in grey market and showrooms are from thailand except for sony X series.
now with ur budget u cannot get a sony W series may be in thailand do note u will need to pay customs duty on it.
in ur budget u can go for samsung 5 series,the sony 40inch V,S series have the advantage in terms of contrast and black depth,slightly better shadow detail,less input lag ,but the samsung has a slight advantage in image processing department vs sony S,V series,the samsung image is sharper most importanly the sony are still above ur budget unless u buy them in the grey market.
if u are strickly going to use for SD viewing then get ur self a plasma like panasonic 720p model.if u happen to do gaming then get urself a lcd.the primary reason why plasma are better for sd is bcause they have a lower resolution so less upscaling to do.
also note samsung is launching the new 7 series

Samsung-LA40A610 must be looked at- it is seriously good LCD and at about 67k might be the best option.
