PowerColor breathes new life into the aged AGP platforms, Asus readies "G80"

French tech site PCInpact claims PowerColor will be releasing a Radeon X1950 Pro based product for AGP systems. Images of the proposed Radeon X1950 Pro AGP graphics card are posted on PCInpact as well. The upcoming Radeon X1950 Pro AGP is expected to be clocked higher than its PCI Express counterparts at 600 MHz core and 700 MHz instead of the 575 MHz core and 690 MHz memory on PCI Express parts. In addition to the higher core and memory clocks, PowerColor will equip Radeon X1950 Pro AGP graphics cards with a quiet Arctic Cooling Accelero X2 cooling solution.

nice...must be one of the last one on agp, can't see dx10 to be adopting agp...maybe just the pci-x and onboard for dx10

AGP is still to be bottlenecked .. and i really didn't notice much diff. besides SLi ... anyway .. AGP will definitely be around for quite some time now ...

With the motherboard manufacturers decieding to stear clear of AGP based boards, its bound to die in the next six months or so.

This card is clearly targetted at users of older motherboards not users who'll be buying agp boards... so whether manufacturers stear clear or not makes no diff.

^^ who do you think would actually buy a Rs. 30-35000 card to put on an AMD 3200 or an Intel 3.0 .. coz as far as I can think people had switched to PCI-E around 1.5 year ago.

I would.

I just need to upgrade to an X2 and get this card, and my rig would be quite kickass....
