I am planning to upgrade.

I have an 250GB IDE HDD which I wish to use as the primary OS drive. Do any of the newer MoBos which support proccys like i3 support IDE drives?

I do have a case that can house the HDD but if possible I prefer to use that for the OS partitions.

Pl. advice!

@vishal_k : I actually have 4 HDDs.

Are there any other options at a lower budget?! The suggested one seems perfect for an HTPC - SPDIF-out and all.

I'll recommend you to replace IDE drive with the new sata3 HDD, but if you want to use your old HDD have a look at this

ASUS P8H67-M Motherboard

I actually have 4 HDDs.

Sadly in your case you have no other option because from Intel Sandy-Bridge onwards most legacy ports are being shown the door. Case in point the lack of IDE ports from then on.

You will have to buy converters for the drives if you wish to continue using them.

Thanks #ALPHA17 !

Only one is IDE. The rest are SATA. Just wanted to use the IDE till the end! I will put it in the ext case, I bought but never used!

Now that this availability is clarified, I will put up a thread for the upgrade options for other stuff!
