GeForce Release 180 WHQL

This is a WHQL-certified driver for GeForce 200-series, 9-series, and 8800-series desktop GPUs.

Exciting New Features:

* Enables NVIDIA SLI technology on SLI-certified Intel X58-based motherboards with the following GPUs: GeForce GTX 280, GeForce GTX 260, GeForce 9800 GX2, GeForce 9800 GTX+, and GeForce 9800 GTX. Learn more here.
* Enables NVIDIA SLI Multi-monitor support, giving you the ability to use two monitors with your GeForce graphics cards in SLI mode. Now you can easily switch between multi-monitor desktop mode and full screen 3D gaming mode. Learn more here.
* Enables NVIDIA PhysX acceleration on a dedicated GeForce graphics card. Use one card for graphics and dedicate a different card for PhysX processing for game-changing physical effects. Learn more here. (Note: GPU PhysX is supported on all GeForce 8-series, 9-series and 200-series GPUs with a minimum of 256MB dedicated graphics memory. This driver package automatically installs PhysX System Software version 8.10.13).

This is indeed a big bang... Buzz on the web is that with these drivers Nvidia is extracting every ounce of juice from the shaders of its card.

It also restores a lot of balance in GFX market. 4870X2 is still the king of the hill but 4870 is struggling to match GTX260 (Core 216) fps-to-fps. ;)

Also 9800 GTX+ is a little more closer to HD 4850 now. Though 4850 is too good a card with too good a price to be stopped in its tracks. :)

9800GT too gets a boost in its fight against HD 4830, though this fight is more about price than performance :p

4670 is unbeatable value and Nvidia can throw anything at it and ATI will still win at this price point :eek:hyeah:

no buddy....even the 9800gt oc cant come close to the 4830 after the bios fix of full 640 stream support than older bugged bios tht detects only 57x shaders.:)
Need to check benches with new bios.

I said 9800GT Vs 4830 is all about prices. It's all about Mail in Rebates, Factory OC, Cooler, Bundle etc etc... :)

178.xx are ancient. 180.43 has been out for ages now and all my reviews are with 180.43. Against 180.43 these are the numbers.
180.43

Far Cry 2(1920x1080, DX10, UH, 8xAA) : 40.96
World In Conflict(1920x1080, VH, DX10, 4xAA) : 46
GRID(1920x1080, 8xMSAA) : 74
3DMark Vantage(Performance Preset) : 10189 (GPU: 10729 | CPU: 8854 )

------------------
180.48

Far Cry 2(1920x1080, DX10, UH, 8xAA) : 41.41
World In Conflict(1920x1080, VH, DX10, 4xAA) : 47
GRID(1920x1080, 8xMSAA) : 71
3DMark Vantage(Performance Preset) : 10175 (GPU: 10722 | CPU: 8824 )
-----------------

Far Cry to Peformance Gain: 1.09%

GRID Performance Difference
: -4%

World In Conflict Performance Difference: 2.17%

so just like all previous nvidia drivers, performance really just remain the same :)
thats why i like nvidia...no need to update drivers

I don't know about performance but there is a rise of 3-4*C in Idle Temp.

Earlier - 49/50*C

Now - 53*C

XFX 8800GT Default Clocks 600/1500/900

P.S. over 178.13

usage of Hindi in moderation is OK, but the whole communication in hindi makes it difficult for people from other regions of our own country where Hindi is not their first language......

there are a lot of Indians on this forums too who would'nt understand a word of what you guys are posting in Hindi. you can do it in PMs.
I did'nt know about this rule, but it sure is for the good of the community.

If you think it's 'evil', I'd say its a 'necessary evil'.

mods please delete the OT posts. including this one.
