Hi guys, I am upgrading next year. So I want to get a good PSU. I am willing to spend about 3.5k. What is good in that range ? Coolermaster 600W PSU or something else ?

Also will I get this PSU at PRIME ?

Thanks, I see you have this PSU. Is it more than sufficient for your OC needs ?

Also my future config will most likely be just a E4500 with 2 GB Corsair ram and a Biostar P35 or Abit P35 board with a 7600 GT or 8600 GT (might get a 7800 GT or 7900GS if I get a good second hand deal) . Do you think this PSU is overkill for this set up ? Should I just save my cash and get a cheaper PSU instead like the Powersafe 500W Silver ?
 
Either the CM 600W or Seventeam 500W will suit that budget of yours - both highly efficient power supplies, and great for overclocking too. FYI, the CM 600W is a Seventeam 500W - goes to show how much juice Seventeam packs into that 500 watter :)
 
You can go for a Powersafe 500W for 2.5k. A very decent and nice PSU. Dont go for Zebronics or Iball etc. There is also a Powersafe 500W Silver PSU for 1.8k, but I don't know if that is good or not.
 
Ultra low end - Zebronics Platinum 400W
Low end - Powersafe 400W Gold, Amigo 500W Dual rail
Med - Cooler Master Xtreme 600w, Seventeam 500W, Corsair VX450W
High - Corsair HX620, OCZ 600W
Extreme High - Cooler Master 1000W

Well Powersafe doesn't make the PSUs. They rebadger PSUs from different manufacturers and sell them under the Powersafe (VIP) brandname. So currently they sell Solytech or R.tec PSUs with a VIP brand name.
 
I got the price from prime apgb for 2.7 k.Do u think it is worth going for it since i will be upgrading the PC within one year.:)
 
Try other places as well. Prime is generally a bit higher than other shops. Plus you can keep your PSU if you upgrade.

Also how is the Glacial Power 550. Also does it make sense to upgrade to the Corsair 450W for 4.2k. I mean won't it consume less power and translate into power savings.
 
Just bout a 450W dual rail Powersafe Gold [L&C] Powersupply last week for 1.5k. U get a silver one 400w for 1.1k powersafe make.

If anyone wants them let me know, bought this from Andheri [W]........

I think it is 400W gold one since power safe does not manufacture any 450w gold one.:)
