CPU/Mobo new rig dilemmas

I have a budget of about 50k for a new rig- and i am reasonably confused with all my options right now :ashamed:

1. Single PCI-E x16 slot board or a Crossfire / SLI able board?

I was all set for a vanilla P45 + a single HD 4850, but i have started giving some serious thought towards a 2nd graphics card in the future for a mid life upgrade :D (I plan to buy a 22" screen and game at 1650x1050)

2. Which Graphics card?

Wanted to go with a single 4850, and maybe consider adding another one later.. but with the new reduced prices is it worth considering a SLI setup with something like a 9600gt or a 8800gt?

3. Which Power supply?

I was considering the vx450 for a single graphics card, but for multiple cards i guess a HX620 or a Tx650, and after Shripad's review maybe a Real Power 550 :)

4. Which Mouse/KB?

Want to invest in a good mouse (currently have a mx310) that i can keep for few years without any probs, and need a comfy keyboard too!

Overall, should i try to buy stuff today that will give me some headroom for upgrades later, or just forget about that and stick to functional gaming config for today and forget about upgrades?

I am quite confused about all of this and all advice would be most welcome :hap2:

if SLI, then which board? I have very little knowledge about SLI boards :ashamed:

1. P5Q PRO for 8.5k, it has a CF and its a GREAT board.

2. Go with 4850 they are a lot better than 8800GT.

3. If u are going for Dual card Setup the get atleast TX750 for a more stable system.

4. Stick with your mouse if its fine else go with a MX518, and get a good Mousepad to go with it. and if u are not fancied about a k/b go with any ordinary keyboard like Samsung Pleomax and it would serve the purpose.

Thanks! was checking on [H] and some other forums, and the official corsair reps recommend the tx750 for a 4870 crossfire , and the hx620/tx650 for 4850 crossfire. They also say that internally there was hardly any difference betwen the hx620 and tx650- ultimately just a choice between modular or not :)

Get this board EVGA 123-YW-E175-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 750i FTW SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail and get two of these ASUS EN8800GT/HTDP/512M GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail via kmd for ard 12k for mobo and 6400 for gfx.

Total cost

12k + 6.4k + 6.4k=24.8k+6150 for a hx620=31k approx so u left with 19k for other things.

better than a single 4850 setup which would cost ard 19k.

H@cker and roadrippersid, thanks for your inputs! :D, The Evga 750 is an interesting option, but i would be more comfortable buying this stuff locally. I have had imported stuff breakdown on me and its been a royal pain  . Also would SLI work with the same type of card but different manufacturers?

HX620 - Modular, is still a "better buy"

TX650, 750 - The ripple is kinda disappointing, not modular.

U dont need 750W unit, HX620 has capability to power even 4870X2 + Quad, but its not reccommended to stress any SMPS above 80% of its capability 24/7.

For 4850CF / X2 it has still lots of headroom, add many CCFLs, Fans, HDDs, Quad.

CPU should be atleast 45nm wolfdale @ 3.3G / 65nm Conroe @ 3.4 / E7200 @ 3.5 / E5200 @ 4GHz, @ these speeds all will perform similar.

which corsair smps? :) - hx620 or tx650 or higher?

Would a e5200 or a e7200 processor be a good fit with a P45 board for 4850 crossfire?
