But still agree with you. You can't get a better branded system with Vista OS at this price.
 
wat the freakin hell is cvd/ excise duty? mans thats a massive figure watever it is, u could try if dell gives the system wit tax included in the price, iv gt a laptop in the past where they agreed to include the tax in the base price (they just reflect a lower amount in the bill so as to make the price+tax= displayed price) but in the laptop there was only the 4% vat, no cvd/excise.. so u could try an call up the customer care if u want.. an hope for the best..
 
I checked with Dell. Till last month they used to import desktops from Malaysia. Now they have started production in their Chennai factory. All these extra taxes are because its an SEZ. Laptops are still imported from Malaysia. Only Vat applicable for laptops.

well neither is he gonna want a Dell(or any other branded pc) nor is he gonna overclock(don thnk he even knows wat dat means) or tune his PC..

he jus needs a pc to perform effectively,handle 3d applications,software etc & last but not least browsing..Basic Amenities...!

i've sent him de AMD config suggstd first..VFM indeed !
 
hey deepsie... so did ya manage to get them 2 knock off ta tax part? i mean were they willing to bargain an all? cause i called an got a really grumpy exec on ta phone.. he wasnt willing to give any discount wat so ever..
 
I've ordered C2D E6550 (Q240902N) system from them. The price came to 41k including tax. They waited the tax part & gave a 3% discount also. So the final price is 35k. Need to wait lil longer bcos the system is coming from Malaysia. If you buy Indian make you can get it in 5 days. Ofcourse with additional tax.

I am impressed by the discount given by dell. Did you get the nvidia 8300 Gs 128mb along with the system? pls let me know of ur views as I am thinking to buy the same config.
