Hey !

I need to build a rig for my cousins..
All the regular stuff..
Casual gaming.. college projects.. movies and music..

They need a 17" inch LCD..
Rest of the parts.. its upto u guys to suggest !! :hap2:

Will be buying the parts tomm or day after frm LR Mumbai !!
Kindly provide Components + Prices (Like u guyz always do !! :) )

Waiting for ur recommendations.. !!

TIA.

Try picking an A64 3000+ AM2, along with the ASUS M2N-VM (if its still caleed that :P)..

For the LCD, I think the 15"ers are around 8-9k ? should fit into 25k..

LG LCD17” - 9750

3000 (AM2) 940pin-3390

Asus M2V TVM 3050

512 DDR2 533 Mhz 2600

Cheap Cabinet +SMPS- 1200

Keyboard Mouse - 500

80 GB SerialATA-1945

DVD WRITER - 1800 (LG)

Creative SBS-245 - 480

= 25265 . I dont know if i missed something , could not think any better rig than this. though its 265 Rs above wht u asked for hehe.

^^ in the above config i will suggest MSI K9NGM2(or sumthing like that for 3.5k)

, it is the best board in that range

Athlon 64 3000+ (1.8GHz 512KB L2 cache AM2, 939) Rs.2600

MSI K9NGM2 Rs.4200

80 GB SATAII Rs.2050

Transcend 512 MB Rs.2000

BenQ 17'' FP71E+ Rs.8800

16 X Liteon Rs.1900

Creative SBS 2.1 Rs.1100

APC 500VA Rs.1995

kb+mouse 600

grand total is arnd 25k.....thats the most in 25k i can think of

@200mph

265/- overbudget is fine !! I can skip a meal :P

Btw.. AM2 better than 939 rite ??

I guess its got DDR2 support.. and what else ??

Also u've mentioned it as a 940pin CPU.. is that rite ??

And the model no for the ASUS board.. is that correct too.. seems to be a lil confusing.. with other replies !

Thanks for ur suggestions btw.. keep em coming... :)

Btw.. Which is d best board ??.. d ASUS one or d MSI.. ?

Also.. AM2 better than 939 ?? The price diff for the processor is almost 1k !! ?? Justified ??

AM2 is safe as 939 wud be discontinued ...secondly ddr2 rams with higher core clock and cheap price (due to high production)...msi is safe as asus mcp51 is problematic ...with msi u also get 7.1 audio as compared to 5.1 in asus

- AM2 , 939 will be discontinued . AM2 gives u the option to switch to a better processor later on. :)

ok .. gr8.. so AM2 it is !!
amongst the LCD's..
Which one's better ?? LG or d Benq one ??
Any idea abt the Response times ??

And board wld be Asus M2V-TVM or MSI K9NGM2 rite ??

Any other ideas / suggestions ??

yup the msi is surely a better buy . dont know of the response time of LCD's may be some one else tells you about that. but i have seen a BENQ with my uncle for the past 3 years or so its a 17" though have not played any game on it but or else for normal work it works good.

ok.. then BenQ ain't bad either !!

Anyone else have any views / ideas on the BenQ 17" FP71E+ ??

Any other LCD's in d same price bracket ??

Yes its very Much Possible

AM2 3600+ + M2N PV MX (Asus) 6150 Chipset = 9250/-

512 DDR2 Ram (Dynet) - 1600

17" LCD ViewSonic Without Biult in Spkrs - 9250/-

80Gb HDD Sata Hitachi - 2000/-

Zebronics Lava Cabinet - 1450/-

Keyboard + Mouse = 500/-

Lite-on DVD writer - 1800/-

Creative SBS 245 - 450/-

the total comes out to 26300/- and if ur budget just doesn't allow you above 25K then you can go for M2N - MX instead of M2N Pv MX Mobo that shld help you to cut down on cost.

Thanks for the suggestion Rahul !!

Still looking for comments on the LCD's...

Any1 with any xperience with the LG \ BenQ \ Viewsonic LCD's mentioned in this thread ??

Why going for LG and BenQ when u are getting View Sonic ....u'll get it between 9100 to 9250/- just go to 5-6 shops in lamington and give them the same configuration.
