My new rig consists of the following :
Intel E7200 2.53 MHz CPU
Abit IP35-E mobo
Corsair XMS2 Twin 2X1 GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM
Seagate 250GB ST3250310AS SATA II
Liteon SH 20A1P DVD ReWriter
MSI 7300 GS, 512 MB DDR2 (borrowed temporarily. Hope to upgrade to a 9600GT soon)
Coolmaster Elite 330 Case
Coolmaster eXtreme Power Plus 460W PSU
Philips 105E5 17" CRT Monitor
Genius PS2 Optical Mouse.
OS - Win XP with SP2
Mobo bios has been flashed to version 18 (13/05/2008) to get rid of the dual boot problem of the Abit mobo.
I am getting these problems frequently :
1) Random restarts when double clicking or right clicking the mouse
2) Minidumps at start up
3) Shutdown is very slow, after disconnecting from the net. On clicking Start>Shutdown, it takes around 2/3 minutes for the ' What do you want the computer to do' drop box to appear. When 'Shutdown' is selected from the drop down menu and 'OK' is clicked, the message 'Windows is shutting down' is displayed. But, it again takes around 2/3 minutes for the pc to shutdown.
4) When clicking on the 'Automatic Updates' tab in System Properties (right clicking My Computer>Properties or Start>Control Panel>System), the Updates setting box with 'Help protect your PC' is displayed after a long delay. The 'General' tab box with System, Registered to & Computer details is displayed during this delay.
Can anyone help ?
