Right now I have Wifi enabled in my house. However the router I have is a free one Airtel gae me and it's a Beetel 450TC1. It's not really great and the range is not too good either.

If I buy a New and Better Router will I be able to get internet access all over the house? Could someone suggest some good and not too expensive routers?

It depends mostly on how big your house is. You can also get an additional wireless router and configure it as a repeater to enhance the range.

You can use access points to extend your signal.. But share information about the area that you would like to cover.. Keep in mind that there will be loads of RF interference when creating a wifi network with in the house.. make sure that you secure your network to avoid unauthorized use

Well it's a one floor house. One flat. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 main room.

Problem is the Router right now is in my Room and it does not even reach the drawing room outside. It's a Beeter 450TC1 complementary router by Airtel.

Would getting a new router help me get converage in all 3 rooms and the hall? ANd what router would you people recommend and how much would it cost?

How would I do that and what router do you recommend?

If its a flat, I think a single router should cover the entire area. I live in a similar flat and I get full signal in all the rooms, I was using a Linksys WRT54G2 before and now a Netgear WNR3500. You can try the WRT54G2, should be enough for your needs! :)

They'll be better than the rubbish I'm using right? :D

ANd what are the prices approx? ANd which is the best? I need to make sure that the room 3 rooms away also gets network cause right now even the next room barely gets network :p

If your Wifi devices are Draft N capable, then you can get a N router! (super range and intranet bandwidth)

@Varkey - Any reason for shift from WRT54G2 to Netgear WNR3500(except the draft 'N' thing) ??

actually me too looking for a router upgrade!

Gigabit Network! Wanted to buy a Gigabit Switch, and saw this awesome deal in Newegg for a refurbished WNR3500 which has Gigabit switch, so got it via KMD for 2.4k :) The device looked brand new and I got the v2 model supporting 3rd party firmwares. :)

Didn't really need the N support, I'm running it in G only mode now.

Ya its nice although the v2 version doesn't have the blinking lights on top :P and running stable without any issues.

Yes its available here, saw it on eBay India for 7k :)

EDITED: Not too sure abt the comparison answer. Apologies.

@others

And any other suggestion for a wifi router+modem for single floor ..?

BSNL connection to be used and looking for good solution. Stable connection to be used.

Pls do mention model with tentative price. Dont mind solution ranging from basic to goodish models.

Well I went to Croma today and checked out Routers and some of the ones recommended here were not there.

There were many Dalkin ones. THe "N" ones had a range of 400 feet and "G" ones around 1400. I can't decide what to take.

Yet need to get a router.

My house is around 1400 square feet.

With 5 rooms in total and I need Wifi in all of this. Which router would come within 2.5k for these specifications?
