bought a Seagate 250gb PATA HDD for rs.3600

Here is the HD Tach score.. is it ok?

Long Bench



Random Access: 15.1ms

CPU Utilization: 5%

Average Read: 15.2 MB/s

Quick Bench



Random Access: 14.8ms

CPU Utilization: 4%

Average Read: 15.7 MB/s

Heres the HD tach score of my 5 month old Seagate 120gb USB HDD

CPU Utilization: 12%

Average Read: 29.5 MB/s

Heres the HD tach score of my 3.5 year old Seagate 40gb HDD

Random Access: 14.8ms

CPU Utilization: 8%

Average Read: 37.8 MB/s

could someone please tell me if they are ok? :| my PC is a 3.5 year old P4 with a mercury mobo BTW..

use it as primary or secondary master if that does not help get a high quality IDE cable

BTW HDTune temps show my 40 giger is at 41 C while my 250gb (which is placed about 3 cm below my 40gb one) is at 46 C :| this is even when its not being accessed..
