PC Peripherals New setup (Power Efficient one), Budget 25k

breeze has more flexibility in terms of devices you can attach also a front e sata port check it yourselves. found nothing interesting in your choices.

Go for the ReAper, anibiotics or rage cabinets. these are the only cabinets that look better than breeze or bijli.

i Would suggest you to shift your pendulum back to Intel Core 2 Duo:

Intel E7500 (2.93Ghz) ~ Rs.5900 -> Supports Virtualization, Great Clock (no need of OC) and can do much better OC when you want.

G31-S2L ~ Rs.2300

Total for combo = Rs. 8200 = Slightly faster but alot cheaper than the AMD X2 550BE combo.

The cash saved here will allow you to invest in Good Quality, Better Timing, 4GB RAM Kit as suggested by LuLu

Energy Consumption:

This AMD vs intel war for this segment seems to be going on in couple of other threads too...

Proccy + Mobo combo within 10K

Suggestion for my PC upgrade

I am really really :S now

Btw, found this cabby from other threads. It looks simple enough for my liking. How good is it?

@Emil: though 2.2k seems expensive for a psu, I'll stick to it. But would like to know how good Zebronics platinum series is.

If you want efficient, only the Zebronics Pro series qualifies. Not the Platinum.

I'll try for the Gigabyte 460W. If its not available then Zeb pro 350W or 500W for the setups mentioned above?

@speedyfreak: alright :D

Got a quote from Rahul (itwares)

AMD PII X2 550 + Biostar TA790GXB A2+ = 10300/-

Corsair 2X2GB 800Mhz - No quote :|

Gigabyte GZ-X3 Cabinet - No Stock

Gigagyte Superb 460W - No Stock

LG optical drive - 1150

So mates any alternatives for Cab and PSU?

PSU -> Zeb pro 500W OR Seasonic 380 OR will VIP 400W suffice?

Cab -> Bijli! Can someone assure me of its looks?

Cabby+PSU for 4k are there any options like that

Real tight on my budget, coz I'm getting the Samsung 2033SW from a relative and he is quoting 7800

Planning to buy by the coming weekend

Edit: The Biostar TA790GXBE seems to have GPU (Green Power Utility) feature. Wouldn't this be better if its price and performance is the same as TA790GXB A2+?

I guess you mean power efficient as "efficient in mostly idle mode" because that is what matters most. That way, my measurements show that the AMD/VIA chipset MB's consume much lesser power both in idle and active mode.
If you're looking to use the onboard GPU, the AMD Athlon-II 245/250 combined with gigabyte 780G/790G chipset MB is the best price/power/performance balance.
I've built PCs (w/o monitor) that consume less than 50W in idle mode with Athlon 2350BE with 690G chipset. The Athllon-II 250+780G should be no different.

Rest of the components should be no-brainer.

you can buy samsung 2033sw for 7k +250 for dvi cable and the rest of 7800 to your relative quoting that price. in this case you and your relative both will be happy.:eek:hyeah::p
