Hi All .....
I'm New Here ....
Its Great to get Suggestions from All of U Techies ....

So i'm thinking of Buying a New CPU....
My main interest is Watching Movies ....watching some 720p Stuff ...would love to see 1080pstuff ..which my current CPU cant do.
And i also Keep mY system 24hrs UP...for Downloading .
Not much of Gamer ...would play mostly AOE II ...so thats not a issue.

I'll list out What i have

2.Creative T6060 5.1 Ch Speakers
3.Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse
4.APC 650KVA Ups ....
5.Creative Audigy Value Sound Card

ok just to confirm, so u need a cpu and a motherboard and you have a budget of 30-35k for these 2 items?

OR

by CPU u mean the entire cabinet and its contents like proccy, mobo, GPU, SMPS, HDD, DVD RW etc?

In case if you need only cpu and mobo, let us know which power supply you have?
 
Lets just get one confusion out of the way:-
Case/Cabinet/Chassis = The (mostly) rectangular box type thingy that houses all your components.
CPU = The processor, a tiny chip somewhere inside that "box".

Config. for your requirements:-
I really cannot suggest anything till you reveal your current CPU+GPU(by that i mean the current processr(as in, for eg., Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Anthlon XP etc) setup. HD video playback is dependent by and large on the video card, chances are you can view 1080p on your new 22'' Samsung with just a video card upgrade.

If you still want to spend 30-35 grand on upgrades, a dual, tri or quad core Phenom II based config could be your best bet.

If you want HD gaming on a 22 inch screen(again, no suggestion makes sense till you reveal your current processor):-
Intel E5200/E7500 Processor
Gigabyte G31M ES2L Motherboard
2x2GB of DDR2 RAM (Gskill 1066Mhz @ CL5 should do fine)
Aftermarket CPU Cooler[Optional]
Corsair VX450 PSU
HD 4870 1GB/GTX 260 | HD 4890/GTX 275 (Depending on leftover budget) Graphics card
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB/1TB HDD
LG/Samsung/Sony 22x DVD RW
Zebronics Bijli, CM Elite,new CM 690, NZXT Tempest:- Either of these cabinets depending on preference and budget.

Post in price request threads for current prices, or call Prime ABGB on 02223896600 and ask for Swapnil or Meenal for current prices(Announce that you are a TE member).

So what shuould i be looking at in a 30 to 35k .... ?
Primary Use is for Watching Movies in HD quality preferably 1080P
Current setup as above ...

My suggestion is:

1) Athlon x2 250 = 4.1k
(or)
Phenom x2 550BE = 5.4k ( recommended)

2) ASUS M3N78EM = 4.3K (geforce 8300 +2 pci slots )
(or)
ASUS M4N78 PRO = 6.2K (geforce 8300 + 3 pci slots) (recommended)

3) 2x2GB 800mhz transend = 2.3k

4) 500gb seagate sata HDD = 2.6k

5) PrimeSource Cabby (visit http://www.primesource.in/inner_products_pcchassis.htm for cabby models) = 2k (not sure about price)
(or)
zebronics bijli or some good cabby

(care shud be taken to go with a good cabby because for some crappy low end cabbies the front panel usb port doesnt work properly for usb hdds because of the bad internal cable in the cabby. I suggest u go for a primesource)

6) Corsair VX450 = 4k

7) GPU = xfx 9800gt (single slot) = 6k - 6.5k ( not very sure of price)

(or)
palit 9800gt (dual slot) = 5.5k - 6k ( not very sure of price)

8) LG dvd-rw = 1.1k

Assuming m4n78pro and x2 550BE = rs.30000 approximate

I and many others would seriously appreciate if you stop putting up dots like pigeon poop all around the place.

I would recommend buying a biostar board would make sense. Since you aren't a gamer, I don't see why one should maximise is to 35k unless it makes a huge difference. Money saved is money earned.
 
Buy 1.5 TB WD ~ 7500 (or) 2 X 1TB WD- ~ 9500 (I'm not kiddin, Definitely needed if you wanna keep your HD movies).

Palit GTS 250 - 7250 (OR) Zotac GTX 260 - :9,610 (OR) Palit GTX 260 Sonic 216 SP - 10,550 ~ Definitely worth spending for, if you have to see the glory of high resolution gaming.

SMPS - Zebronics Platinum Series 600W/700W (depending upon ur video card). Buy this SMPS only if you see a good price difference between corsair and cooler master.

DVDRW - L.G / Samsung - 1200 INR

See whether your motherboard has PCI-E slot and whether it is a ATX cabinet, if it has PCI-E and it is a ATX cabinet, then Don't buy CPU and MOBO and RAM.

You can play your videos (HD) using NVIDIA CUDA - No need to spend money for CPU just because of videos. GPU's can handle both videos and games.

If your mobo, doesn't have PCI-E, then go for a new mobo, CPU, RAM, cabinet.

CPU+Mobo = 10,000 (E7500+any asus/gigabyte ATX mobo under 4K (OR) AMD Phenom X4 9650 + ASUS 780G board)
RAM+DRIVE - 2500
SMPS + CABinet - 7000 (Zebronics Platinum SPMS + Black Jack cabinet)
