Saw this great looking laptop on flipkart and its not a bad deal for a ~2Kg laptop.
Official demo and hands-on looks promising and laptop feels solid overall.
Its product page quotes a 300nit screen (which I don't doubt as Sammy is the No.1 display manufacturer), 9Hrs optimus-enhanced battery life (it's non replaceable) and aluminium built among other well rounded features. For warranty there's 1yr 'Pick n Drop', says Flipkart, which is cool? (how does Sammy fairs in ASS).
And a surprising draught of reviews.

Alternatives -
Upcoming Dell Inspiron 14Z.
It's Dell. You can tell.

HP DV4-3015TX which seems 'perfect' for 38K (buggy GPU switching, poor LCD and unquoted battery life aside).
A little too perfect perhaps.
*remembers burnt crotch*

The options in 14" and 13" is very few across all companies in india.720p displays are only good for 13" or max 14"

With Windows 8 and Ultrabooks, the 13''/14'' market will become the new ''mainstream''.
Loads of new features and ''MetroUI'' being deeply integrated in Windows 8, even tabletPCs will become pretty popular by early 2013 when Intel's Ivy bridge takes the low power/high performance/fusion computing to the next level.

15.6'' and up will be relegated to desktop replacements and gaming rigs.
