Following research in conjunction with Archaemic, Noobz are proud to present the first ever all-firmware exploit for the PSP. Based on Lumines, the "Illuminati" exploit is a user-mode exploit using a buffer overflow in the savedata file - similar to the GTA exploit.

That's right - if you've got a legal UMD copy of Lumines, then you can run homebrew on your PSP - whatever the firmware version. That includes v3.50! Right now, the only homebrew is the Hello World demo released below - but in future we intend to release a HEN and downgrader.

Fantastic news for everybody, heck of a trouble for Sony!

Just hope that people who use homebrew, still buy UMD's from time to time.
 
I heard that Alex has started his work on the 3.50 firmware hack ... along wid his french comrade..

prolly the version by Dark Alex wd be out this weekend ..

Boy .. Sony has got its hands full at the moment it seems ... :D
 
i was cribbing bout that too .. cuz it shd be availabe to us ,.. bt ofcource that enhancement+multiplayer option .. that wd be Playstation killer to some extent ..

If Alex comes out wid that.. Sony wil surely go overboard to hunt him dwn .. :P
 
im going to go find a lumines umd today...hope i get it in powai

and the is the user-space hack so homebrew will work, not the kernel-space hack, so it cant be used for flashing right now

hope a kernelmode hole is found soon :D
 
Heh heh. All my wandering for a 2.71 FW PSP seems to have gone to waste. Well, at least I don't have to spend on a Lumines ka UMD.

PS: BTW, nukeu666, do you own a cd of Deus Ex which is not with you ATM?

I room with him. I was the one who had asked for it though. Had a sudden urge to replay it.
Also, were you active on BB? I think I remember spotting you there too. (I was a mod there, one upon a time :P)
 
i use a friend's login to get to BB but site has been down for days now.

deux ex is 300 bucks now so it was too good not to buy :p

its been said that everyone a discussion of deus ex happens, someone starts replaying it :P

my search for lumines goes on
