The 4 yrs old TVS UPS at my parents place has 0 min backup now. The computerwaala at my place says he wil replace the batteries for 800 odd rs. Is it worth it or shall i ditch it and go for new UPS? If new one then I prefer UPS with onsite warranty+ a longer warranty period. The Wipro(they sell it underr the name Wep right?) and ICE have 2yrs onsite warranty according to www.deltapge.com Are they any good? The PC is a 4yrs old HCL Ezeebee with a P4 processor and a 17" CRT. Help me guyz.:(

Hearing lots of negative feedback about APC these days. Thats why decided to try Wipro's(Wep) UPS. 2yrs onsite warranty against APC's 1yr(Is it onsite???) sounds much better. Any users of this UPS or any better choices?

Where did u hear negative feedback for APC? Its the best u will get in the market.

And APC service is better than any other UPS u compare. I would still suggest a APC for reliability. :bleh:

Take for instance, i stay in an area where there are lots of voltage fluctuations and the APC handles it with ease. All else failed, except for APC. :ohyeah:

Dont know about the wipro ones so cant comment but APC is pretty reliable , been using one for the last few years without any problem.

APC does provide great service. One of my friend had problem with his UPS and called APC care. His native home is 80km from kolkata. But a guy from APC came the very next day. :)

Right here in TE. I saw a thread in which a guy was complaining about APC UPS. He said he had 4 replacement in a year. Thats why worried. Currently have a TVS-E UPS. Even that gave problems initially but as the warranty period was 2 yrs no problem in replacing them. Thats why i am looking for UPS with 2yrs warranty period. :S

Any user who buys APC ups in last 6 months view will be very useful, as with tough competition from local & Chinese brands most reputed brands may compromise with quality.

How about Videocon- 650

deltapage says its one yr onsite warranty. Can someone here confirm that it is two yrs onsite warranty or provide me with a link which says so :S

Eyes closed go for APC.

Nothing else can come close to its reliabillity, backup time and features. i still have my 500VA, 800VA running perfect.

Thanks :). The 550VA model looks just perfect for my needs and i guess it should be priced at ~1.9k as per delta's prices. Thanks for the help guys :D

Karthi007,

I don't remember where :(, most probably on TE, I read that APCs ES series are good for... just confirm before you made any final decision, :)

Go for Luminous viva ups , I am using it for last 4 months . I highly recommend this product to any one . Some of the features of viva ups are user-friendly design , led indicator on the front pannel , over-load trip audio, built in alarm function

I bought this ups for Rs 5990 with 2 years warranty on complete unit including battery
