No microsd slot on the nexus either, you have to use either adapter or OTG.
Advantage with nexus is the price and assurance of future android OS updates.
Why not get a N10.
If thats too much make sure you get a 32GB 7 incher instead of a 16GB, the price difference is only $20 on amazon.
What is the service centre network in India like for nexus tabs ?
They have been released in India but atrocious pricing make it more economical to import them from outside India.
After sales should be handled by either Rashi Peripherals OR Neoteric.

SIM slot is for cell phone or 3G
micro-sd is a flash memory card
That is, two slots which the nexus lacks that are present on the tab2.
If you want internet acess on the move with the nexus you need to buy an extra third party portable 3g modem which is Rs.4k extra or you need a smart phone with which you can tether the nexus with, that costs 10-20k.
Nexus is the cheapest tier-1 quad core.

You mentioned one item is missing to which i added to, that there is also a second one missing as well.
Two items missing in the nexus.
With all the talk about features of various tabs, its got this & that, more important i think is to point what it does NOT have. With this info you can compare better with the competition and know exactly what you're getting.

Right, i think this 7 incher looks good. Its not a google nexus but an ASUS nexus.
32GB + 3G (check the specs of the 3G to see whether its applicable with Indian cell companies. I think 3g here works on 2100Mhz)
why the heck call it 4G when it only does 3G (!)

Dinjo, when you say watching movies, it can handle 1080p but how are you going to get that movie into the tab ?
Streaming/ftp via wi-fi is your only option and that is going to be painful with 1080p. I think even 720p will be iffy unless you're in the same room as the wi-fi router. Your max recieve rate will be ~15Mbs on this tab.
You will have to re-encode and stream at a lower rate for HD if this is to be practical.
Or use a thumb drive/SD card with an adapter.
And this nexus only operates on the 2.4Ghz band for wi-fi.

Ignore this bit.
Was playing around with Bsplayer and it worked very well. This has got to be the best player on Android.
People always recommend MX player + ES File explorer, well that player croaked on half the files i threw at it. MX player cannot access SMB shares and requires ES file explorer to do it and pass the file along. Well ES is buggy, requiring frequent restarts to work well with SMB shares. Otherwise it loses the connection (!)
BSplayer for me is the player that plays everything, is SMB aware so no need for ES file explorer at all.
Extremely responsive, makes much better use of the hardware and streaming 720p movies was seeking around and i did not even notice i was on wifi. That is important i thought my wifi was not working too well but it seems that the two combo app used were the problem. Bsplayer even has a setting to optimise for wifi playback.
The first thing you notice with bsplayer, seek anywhere and the response (for me) was very quick with almost any file i threw at it. Very easy to get codecs info that the file was encoded with as well.
Divx playback ? no problem ! seek around the file very smooth unlike with mx player that needs another app to do the pass through. No audio sync issues and good subtitle handling as well.
Will try with 1080p though though i'm not anticipating any probs. A dual core should be good enough.
MX player + ES file explorer is a lousy combo for watching movies, use Bsplayer and only use the former combo as a backup.
10 incher is better than a 7 inch for this.

Its heavier but are you going to hold the tab for the entire duration of the movie. You have to rest it some where in which case a bigger screen helps. Will make a HUGE difference with reading as well.
Here the particular mix of files plays a role, everybody got a different mix. But i found no lagging seeking around a movie, some give probs, still testing it out but its doing better for me than MX.

ok so i checked out dice and its very light like the stock player.
The key point here is 'network share' aware player. Dice & Bsplayer qualify. MX player does not at least not in its present version. If MX player in the future offers the option to attach to a SMB share then it enters the same league as the other two.
Dice is very fast but bsplayer can handle a more diverse set of files. Best thing i like about dice is the cueing, forward or back 5 s to replay, dice is fantastic with this. Instant response with files it works with. Navigating through directories and sub directories with dice is very good too, as good if not better than bsplayer. Dice never lost the connection to the share like ES file explorer times out after a bit.
For a lighter device i can see dice being the player of choice over bsplayer but with dual core then i think bsplayer handles more variety and is a viable option. bsplayer isn't just a player it wants to be a media manager as well.
The one advantage MX has over the other two is it can boost the volume twice as loud which the others cannot.
