Had not really played this version of NFS, and since many people acclaimed it to be the best NFS after Porsche, gave it a go once again. But have a issue, one of the few racing games where playing with a X360 controller is much more difficult than a keyboard, is the out-of-box calibration bad, or is it just me? :P

I calibrated it before I played a single race so it works perfectly for me. The settings are the same as that of Grid.

P.S.: Using it with a hack for 16:10 display as the game does not support widescreen display.

Controller or the KB doesn't matter - you can manage to steer the car at the max speed. :P

Its only you bro.

You'll fall in love with this game

Hint : Play each race 7-10 times to earn more money for spare parts and better cars.

Money value of each race doesn't decline after you played any race. It stays the same

Lastly , for the last race where u have to run with your BMW, memorise the shortest route from the bay(seaside) area to the stadium.

You'll have to enter the area under construction covered with rocks , now opposite to Stadium (will open during the last race where u have to jump across the bridge and end the game )

One of the best cars to handle is Lamborghini

One more tip about pink slips . Its for members 12-15th rank. Don't put game on autosave till you defeat member 2 for getting their pinkslips . After defeating member 15 (ronny probably) you'll be given two cards to choose from 6 cards

Always choose from the first 3 cards from extreme left. Now suppose u get a pink slip i card no 3 from extreme left for member 15.

Then when you defeat member 14 ( without any restart ) , u can get the pinkslip in Card no 2.

If u restart once , then it'll be card no 1 and if u restart twice then it'll be card no 3 again and so on

Remeber where you got the last pink slip . Next time when u defeat the boss without a restart , u'll get it in the previous card considering from extreme left

Enable Autosave after u defeat member 2 coz in the end u'll have to defeat member 1 and then run with ur BMW a 7 Star / 10 star (highest star) wanted level . You'll be attacked by 30-50 heavy suvs and spike strips everywhere.

If u don't enable autosave before , the game won't be save in between member 1 and the chase coz if u get caught in the chase , its game over for u. That's why u should memorise the shortest route from Bayside ( from where u'll have to escape to Stadium )

@Anubis,

you might want to add a spoiler tag in there for the sake of those who are playing it for the first time.

as the game does not support widescreen display

WTF?? In today's day and age...I can't believe it!

I actually get bored of normal racing, prefer a game that is more dhamaal, like Cars with Guns and crashing into each other like Burnout Paradise...more fun in it.

hahaha MW now:bleh:

yes, even i was facing problems with the Xbox 360 controller. this is do to the lack of dead zone setting. you can't set it from within the game, and it gets difficult to keep the car on track.
refer to this link for Dead Zone settings for XBox 360 controller using 3rd party drivers.
http://www.techenclave.com/gaming/xbox-360-controller-deadzone-xbcd-drivers-86545.html

and yes, i too feel its one of the best NFS titles. still keep coming back to it.

yeah a very good time pass game. It was my absolute favourite until Grid.

The best thing is this game is very forgiving on new comers. I had put it in a couple of PCs in my office and I remember people who had never played games before got the hang of it in just a couple of tries.

But they did struggle with the Black Edition Challenge though :) But they always wanted to restart and try again only to get busted within 30 secs..lol

1. The game does not support widescreen resolution. It has to be patched. Google it :P

2. The xbobx 360 controller doesnt work properly with NFS:MW and drifts a bit. Google the solution. Some profiles have to be made.

In office so cant do the same.

@Aces170: Don't keep lot of high expectation from this, and you'll enjoy it even more. As for X360 controller, I have heard that it has some issues with NFS:MW, but sorry can't offer any solution. Personally, I prefer KB... more buttons... more controls. :ohyeah:

@Anubis: Thanks for ruining the thrill of this game for him. OP is playing this for the first time and you are blatantly spoiling it for him, more so without using spoiler tag. You sir, are truly Ignorant.

What sort of hack is this , is there a similar hack for NFS Carbon as i love that game a lot.

Does this hack allow playing at full hd resolutions.
