  • Product Name: Nikon D5100 with 18-55mm VR Kit
  • Shutter count = 2728 per Apotelyt (refer screenshot)
  • Manufacturer page URL: https://www.nikon.co.in/en_IN/product/discontinued/digital-slr-cameras/d5100
  • Description if any: Bought thinking that I could do some photography. Very quickly realized that DSLRs are not meant for me. Has been sitting idle for the last few years, and even the usage before that was very limited
  • Issue: On the LCD screen, there are some gray spots on the top left and the bottom right part of the screen. Not sure how this happened as the camera hasn't been used for several years. I will try to highlight (in red) this issue in the images as best as I can in both colored and black screen (see images attached)

electronics/machines often develop faults if not used for very long times. It's not a good idea to leave them lying around for years without usage. Two precautionary steps should always be taken:
  1. Use the electronics once every few months. In case of a camera, it can be just a couple of snaps with each lens, but that much usage should be done once in a while.
  2. If the product has a removable battery, then take the battery out while storing for long periods.
All the best with your sale
